Chelsea have been named as the the club in the top five European leagues to hand the most minutes to foreign players. A study by Football Observatory Weekly Post has published data on top-tier teams from 31 European associations, ranking them according to the percentage of domestic league minutes played by expatriates since the start of the season. Chelsea, with 90.4 per cent, top the major European leagues.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has had a street named after him in his native Portugal. The 54-year-old is one of European football's most successful managers, having won two Champions League titles, as well as league successes in Portugal, Italy, Spain and England. Mourinho’s success has not gone unnoticed in Portugal, as the former Rua da Saude road in Setubal, Mourinho’s hometown, was renamed as 'Avenida Jose Mourinho'.

Arsenal’s football manager, Arsene Wenger, has been fooled by fake news making the rounds that George Weah won the Liberia’s presidential election. Wenger, who coached the 51-year-old footballer-turned-politician at Monaco between 1988 and 1992, had on the Gunners website congratulated Weah. Unfortunately for the 67-year-old French tactician, the results had not yet been announced.

Tiemoue Bakayoko had vowed to dye his hair blue after scoring his first Premier League goal for Chelsea. He did found the back of the net in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to struggling Crystal Palace on Saturday. Is he in the mood to fulfil his promise? We are yet to find out.

John Stones’ two goals for Manchester City against Feyenoord made him the first defender to score a brace for the Blues in the Champions League. Former Premier League star Bernard Mendy has swapped football for flushes - by taking up poker. The France defender spent three top-flight seasons with Bolton (2002-03) and Hull City(2008-10).He has since won thousands in poker tournaments and cash games since learning the game from his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates. Mendy, 36, may now go fulltime after leaving Indian Super League club Chennaiyin FC during the summer.

After weeks of protests, FIFA has finally given Adrien Silva the green light to train with his new club. Silva, who was signed on deadline day in a deal worth up to £27m, had been barred from representing Leicester due to the Foxes failure to register him before the 11pm transfer deadline. Given that the Foxes missed finalizing his details by all of 14 seconds, the former Sporting star has been ironically awarded the squad number 14.
