Dr. Dennis Richardson

Dennis is a California licensed optometrist that has been practicing for 36 years and is also a USPTA Elite Professional, a TennisCize Hawaiian Style Certified Instructor, and a USPTA Pickleball Professional. He has been instructing for over 20 years. Dr. Richardson has had extensive training and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

Dr. Richardson was the Assistant Director of Tennis at Edward Vincent, Jr. Park in Inglewood, an assistant coach at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, and the Tennis Commissioner for the Pacific Basin League. He has been awarded the USPTA California Division Pro of the Year Award twice, was the USPTA California Division District 4 Vice President. Dr. Richardson currently teaches tennis and pickleball as an Independent Contractor in the Pismo Beach area and is the owner and operator of the Pismo Beach Optometric Center.

By attending this presentation, USPTA Professionals will have a much better understanding of things to look for related to their student’s vision that could be hindering their ability to learn tennis skills, progress much slower than expected with their training, or produce less than desired match play results. We will look at some common disorders of the eye and then have a fun on court demonstration.
