Who are these courses for?
These courses are for students who wish to gain a deeper understanding of a single academic topic in an intensive format. They can contribute towards an existing degree at another institution, offer a fantastic opportunity to try out a subject prior to moving on to postgraduate studies and get a taste of SOAS life.
These courses are for international students who wish to improve their English skills or who would like to study a subject course and, at the same time, develop their academic language skills in the subject area. They are a great introduction to studying at an English speaking university.

English Courses
Entry Requirements
Summer School courses are chosen from across the university, and cover a range of themes
£1450 for 3 weeks or £2500 for 5 weeks, plus £60 application fee.
• English Language Skills
English Language Courses: from 4.5 IELTS or equivalent level.
Accommodation is available from £730 for 3 weeks.
• Advanced Reading and Writing
• Business, Finance and Management • Culture, Society and History • Development • Environment • Law
• Politics
Entry Requirements Students should have an English language level of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent level (see website for details) and be over 18 years of age at the time of attendance.

Schedule Courses run Monday to Friday and combine lectures, tutorials, class trips, films and debates.
