The 40 year old successful business owner has been a great role model as well as mentor to some. Know to many as The Mona Lisa Maker Mr. Dickerson strives to leave a beautiful impression with every family he serves. Just to give everyone a little history on Mr. Dickerson’s career. In July of 1987, Darryl Dickerson began his journey in funeral service at the Harleston-Boags Funeral Home Inc. in located in Charleston SC at the age of 12. Upon graduating from Burke High School, he enrolled immediately at Gupton –Jones College of Funeral He returned from college and served a two (2)year apprenticeship at Harleston-Boags Funeral Home Inc. and was licensed in 1995 at the tender age of 20; at that time the youngest licensed mortician in the state of South Carolina. In 1995 Darryl was hired at Fielding Home For Funerals in Charleston, SC where he became the chief embalmer. January of 2003 he became the office manager of W.M.Smith-McNeal Funeral Home Inc. He was elevated to Assistant Manager in 2004 and held that position until August 28, 2008. Mr. Dickerson was always determined to have his own business. On August 3, 2009 he opened the Dickerson Mortuary LLC. Dickerson Mortuary LLC is a full service mortuary with an array of amenities to assist families in their time of need. We are known for our signature white masterpiece hearses , presidential limousines and formal wearing uniforms on services because we believe in servicing our families in dignity. We also provide our families with professional and compassionate staff members. Our goal is to embrace our families through the bereavement process and beyond with encompasses making our families feel at home when completing their end of life decision making process. He always remember what his father told him “Treat people fair; and its only one way, the right way. Mr. Dickerson was also Awarded 2015 Professional of the Year for the State of SC.
