The SURFLITE CORE™ was designed exclusively for our new Spring Break Powder boards to create a core that floats to the top of the deepest powder. In surfboard design, a thicker more buoyant board will help the board float much easier than a thin dense one. With this inspiration, we have developed and now evolved an industry-first core. As each Spring Break Powder board has a unique shape, each SURFLITE CORE™ features a unique alignment of Blocked Balsa and strategically placed Poplar throughout the board. In a development partnership with Union Binding Company, we have incorporated all new Forged Carbon Diamond Plates into the insert area of the core, creating the most high-tech and floatable core of all time.
Engineered specifically for our flagship model, this new core is a shining example of our Space Age technical supremacy. Designed using high yield materials, the HOVER CORE™ is so light it essentially floats across the snow. Thin cut low-density Paulownia strips are combined with 7 mm Poplar beams to create a unique ply configuration. The result is an energetic core that is extremely light and strong with excellent dampening properties. All new for 2017/18, the HOVER CORE™ has been upgraded to FSC® Certification standards.
The PANDA CORE™ was built for a high-performance return of energy in a lightweight and versatile core. From razor-sharp turns on demand to huge ollies, this core was engineered with all-terrain technical freestyle riding in mind. Comprised of our P2 Superlight™ core and enhanced with inlaid Bamboo Power Rods, this high-density core is strong enough to meet the needs of the all-terrain customer while saving considerable weight.
The CORK INLAYED PRO CORE™ was engineered specifically to compliment Scott’s unique riding style allowing an extreme mix of dampening and durability with the energy required for spontaneous and creative riding. The P2 SUPERLIGHT CORE™ is an extremely lightweight and versatile core. Engineered for the Ultrafear urban assault weapon and the Spring Break Twin, this wood core can withstand high impact and delivers maximum pop. New for 2017/18, the Ultrafear version has a milled channel running the length of the core to accommodate the series' vertical Titanal beam. Comprised of an even mix of Poplar and Paulownia wood, the P2 SUPERLIGHT CORE™ is strong enough to excel at the highest level while saving considerable weight.
The CANADIAN MAPLE DUAL CORE™ features internal Poplar strips fused with more dense and powerful Maple through the insert area and along the rails. In addition to its performance properties, this core smells like maple syrup and the fresh outdoors, hails from Canada, and rips like crazy despite being incredibly polite.
We built the FSC® CERTIFIED DUAL CORE to achieve the consistent, dependable feel required from riders looking to take their skills to the next level. This lightweight core has no irregularities or finger joints providing uniform flex for consistency. Featuring a lightweight and poppy Poplar foundation, Beech is placed through the inserts increasing power and durability. The FSC® CERTIFIED DUAL CORE offers a consistent, comfortable, and powerful ride in a full wood core that has been certified sustainable by the Forest Stewardship Council.
The FSC® CERTIFIED SELECT CORE is the original eco-friendly core. Its proven track record offers an environmentally conscious consumer a sustainable alternative without sacrificing any of the energy or stability expected from a CAPiTA. These cores have been reforestation certified by the Forest Stewardship Council for nature and habitat sustainability and made with a single species Poplar grain for a smooth, consistent ride. Extending from edge to edge and tip to tail the wood grain has no knots or finger joints enhancing response and providing a uniform flex pattern.
Providing consistent, easy, predictable flex while maintaining strength and forgiveness is what the Poplar core is all about. This core holds up to anything the groms can throw at it without breaking the bank.
All of our FSC® CERTIFIED woodcores are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. These cores come from managed forests that are certified for protection of biodiversity and wildlife habitat; sustainable harvest levels; protection of water quality; and prompt regeneration (e.g., replanting and reforestation).
