Go Get Involved With more than 65 clubs and organizations to join, and less than five miles to downtown Manchester, you have countless opportunities to get involved, give back and have fun. You’ve probably browsed through our majors, got a glimpse of what we offer academically, and now you’re wondering, “What’s there to do for fun?” It’s a popular question. And the simple answer is, “A lot.” Just take a look at the sidebar on the right that lists all our clubs and organizations. But that’s just part of the story. There are also special events, concerts and performances on campus each semester, student- and faculty-led community volunteer efforts, intramural sports, a fitness center, an exercise studio, an Olympic-regulation pool and any number of other events such as the wildly popular Bingo Night at The Last Chapter Pub. You’re also a short drive (or heck, even a bike ride) from downtown Manchester, which Forbes magazine named to its most recent “most livable cities” list. So you’ll be close to major concerts and professional hockey at the Verizon Wireless Center, minor league baseball games at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, all the nightlife hotspots and restaurants around Elm Street, specialty apparel stores and boutiques, kayaking spots along the Merrimack River, and the renowned Currier Museum of Art.

It’s also important to know that Southern New Hampshire University is a multicultural, multiethnic, multi-gender and multigenerational university, committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment for all students. Our Office of Diversity Initiatives, for example, collaborates with students, faculty and staff on educational and enrichment activities and events that help support underrepresented students while promoting the larger message of inclusivity. There are also three student organizations dedicated specifically to promoting diversity across campus – The Beloved Community, the International Student Association and Generation Equality. And SNHU recently formed the President’s Commission for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Advocacy, which focuses on ensuring a safe, positive experience for students, faculty, staff and alumni who identify as part of the LGBTQ community through advocacy, policy review, programming and education.

SNHU has a long tradition of volunteering in its community. Students, faculty and staff regularly raise money for (and lend a hand to) organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, New Hampshire Food Bank, Operation Frontline, Salvation Army and many more.
