Our history began in 1873 and our “herstory” emerges in 1926 as the college reorganized to exclusively educate women. As a historically black, student centered, accredited, private four-year liberal arts college for women, we stand tall and strong on the tradions of sisterhood. This foundaon of tradions nurtures and supports Benne Belles as they pursue their higher educaon ambions. The College offers women an educaon conducive to excellence in scholarly pursuits; preparaon for leadership roles in the workplace, society, and the world; and life-long learning in a technologically advanced, complex global society. As a United Methodist Churchrelated instuon, Benne College promotes morally grounded maturaon, intellectual honesty, purposeful public service, and responsible civic acon.
