ALUMNI EVENTS A. Washington, D.C. Alumni and Friends Gathering On Feb. 1, 2016, 36 alumni and friends gathered at Smith and Wollensky in downtown Washington, D.C., to celebrate Saint Mary’s. Alumni enjoyed hearing about the latest and greatest at Saint Mary’s. Dick Willet ’57 and Tony Vertuno ’58 talked with Brother William. B. Brother Jerome Ski Center Dedication The Saint Mary’s community came together on Feb. 3, 2016, to dedicate the Brother Jerome Rademacher ’58 Nordic Ski Center in the lower level of Brother Leopold Hall. Brother William joined Dr. Fred ’57 and Jean (Purcell) CST’60 Skemp. C. Florida Alumni and Friends Gathering Thirty-six alumni and friends gathered at the Club at Pelican Bay, Fla., on Feb. 6, 2016. Special thanks to Lee ’51 and Marjorie M’85 Canning for sharing their club with the Saint Mary’s community. Attendees included: Marianne and Jim ’69 Coogan; Tony Piscitiello, AFSC ’69, M’82; and Tom ’58 and Gail Baryl. D. Cardinal Plunge The 2016 Cardinal Plunge occurred on Feb. 13, 2016 at Lake Winona. Proceeds were given to Sean and Coral Logan of Stockton. Coral works in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Sean and Coral’s infant daughter Makiah was diagnosed with a heart condition called coarctation of the aorta. Plunging for the good cause were Libby Abbe, Riley Burns ’16, and Kory McDonald ’16.
