ART is to express imagination & to think out of the box. It is essential for critical thinking skills, understanding different cultures to develop compassion.
ENGINEERING is essential for the application of science and mathematics to design and build

MATHEMATICS is the language of science and technology. It helps us describe the world around us by using numbers, symbols and equations.
The on-going STEAM programme is not only catered to students with an interest in science and technology as it is open to all students across year 9 to 11 Btec. The activities range from a variety of fun-filled projects appropriate for students of different levels, with the objective of exploring real world problems through collaboration to think out of the box as a team.
This January, the Ministry of Education’s STEP centre gave recognition to SMPIHM’s consistent efforts in conducting STEAM activities for our fellow students. Working closely with the facilitators from STEP, Cikgu Noraidah Ismail, head of Student Skill Development Unit, has created a programme that integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics to promote critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration skills.

This year will be another busy year packed with STEAM activities and we look forward to the exciting new developments from our creative students!

In STEAM education, each of these subjects is integrated and taught together to provide a holistic approach to learning. By combining these subjects, students are able to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge that are essential for success in the modern world.
