Land of the Free One of the first words you think of when you hear America But not everyone was free The America then was full of hate Full of discrimination People murdered for their race or sexuality And as they began to accept themselves Society shut them out Kids forced to attend segregated schools And forced to grow up in a dying society
The America now is full of anger Anger which causes riots Anger which causes mass shootings And innocent people getting murdered
The America in the future has hope Hope which brings acceptance. Hope which brings improvement. Hope which brings a light at the end of the tunnel
Nothing is born perfect And all beautiful things must be worked for A flower can’t grow without water A tree needs to sprout to grow apples And a baby can’t be born without love
We make the choices We decide who we want to be As a whole we need to do better Start a new chapter Together
