We Wish We Were Kids Again

Happy and giddy we ran around As little kids. Now we sit at home Buried in our cell phones, televisions, and computers. Oh the cold winter we are in We must stay inside and flip through the channels Only to find Elf for the twelfth time today.

Now we must stay at home or wear protection No friends and no parties allowed anymore. Just a simple stay at home order. No joy and no happiness we get from seeing other people anymore No more class clown or your crush just down the hall. It has all vanished like a bat in the night sky.

Oh what we’d do to run around and play again On the jungle gyms and the play structures To make good ol’ memories like Papa Joe said.

Now we stare out our windows wondering what it would be like to have it all back. As we can only hope it gets better day in and day out As we watch life go ‘round and ‘round We think of the days we were happy and giddy where we ran around.
