Nevada DECA

Smart City Networks continued its ongoing support of the Nevada DECA organization earlier this year at the Nevada DECA State Career Development Conference. Smart City sponsored the Principles of Hospitality & Tourism competitive event for the 2022 conference that took place at Bally’s Las Vegas on February 15th, with award presentation the following day.

In addition to being an event sponsor, Smart City’s Quality Assurance Manager, Sarah Finnegan attended the event as a in-person judge. This is the 3rd year Sarah has volunteered as a judge, with other colleagues participating in previous evets over the years.

Founded in 1946, DECA is authorized and supported by the United States Congress, as well as the federal and state Departments of Education. It operates as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit student organization with members in all 50 United States, District of Columbia, Canada, China, Germany, Guam, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Nevada DECA is a student organization dedicated to preparing high school and college students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Throughout Nevada there are over 2,000 student members that take part in career development programs. competitions, and trainings.
