Problem In Karnataka :
There are 9 rivers flowing through Karnataka out of which, 8 of them flow to Bay of Bengal. Yet, the measures to provide safe drinking water to the people of Karnataka are failing. Deteriorating quality of groundwater is a serious concern as groundwater is the major source for drinking water particularly for rural drinking water supply. In about 4500 villages in Karnataka, groundwater is not fit for drinking purpose because of quality problem. Groundwater sources are getting dried fast due to over-exploitation.
