PARISH NURSE SUNDAY August 19 will be Parish Nurse Sunday and focusing on Children’s Health Month. As you prepare your children to go back to schools and colleges stop by the nurse’s station in the South Lanai and receive information about what is needed for your child to be in the best health for learning. CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY (CFM) - THIS FALL Sunday morning class registration for children and youth is now open! Classes will begin on August 26th. Space can be limited so sign up now! Volunteers are needed to teach/assist with Sunday morning formation classes starting in the fall. Commit 1-2 Sundays a month and help us tell God’s Story with our youngest parishioners. SUBMIT YOUR NOMINATIONS BEFORE THE DEADLINE THIS FRIDAY! VESTRY AND DIOCESAN DELEGATE NOMINATIONS Nominations are open for people to serve on the Vestry beginning in January 2019, and for delegates to serve at the Diocesan Convention beginning in 2019. The Vestry recently changed the Church’s Bylaws so that Vestry members and new Delegates to the Diocesan Convention will be elected in the fall, and begin their terms on January 1 of the following year. This will allow Vestry members and Diocesan Delegates to serve on a calendar year basis. Therefore, five new Vestry members and new Convention Delegates will be elected at the Parish Meeting October 28, 2018. The deadline to submit nominations is 4 p.m., Friday, August 17. All forms should be returned to the receptionist at the South Lanai entrance. Nomination forms are available from the church receptionist and online at www.saintmichael.org. SAINT MARY’S GUILD Saint Mary’s Guild will be back once Sunday Classes start in August! So you will be able to enjoy your sweet and savory treats again! Know that each time you buy goodies from our weekly bake tables, your donation goes to two organizations; Family Outreach Dallas and Hopeful Solutions. Family Outreach Dallas works to educate and strengthen families thorough education, mentoring and programs. Hopeful Solutions helps homeless single mothers who overcoming substance abuse with resources needed to achieve self-sufficiency and living with their children. Saint Mary’s looks forward to serving the SMAA community again this year with our cheerful volunteer bakers!! Please stop by our table before or after church or Sunday Classes!
