GETTING STARTED WITH

PURPLE BRIEFCASE!

1. Go to: https://app.purplebriefcase.com/pb/account/login?s=Benedict

2. Click on the New User tab

3. On the Create or Find Your Account: a. Enter Your First Name b. Enter Your Last Name c. Enter Your Benedict College Email Address (Not your Edvance 360 email but the email that begins with you first name.lastname##@my.benedict.edu d. Click the link Find Me *If your account cannot be found, please contact Mrs. Sonya Johnson in the Career Development Center at sonya.johnson@benedict.edu. Please provide your first and last name and last four digits of your social security number in the email. Review the “More Information� section on pages 9 and 10 for further instructions on your My.Benedict email.

4. Once your record is found, enter your school identification number in the school ID field (Jenzabar Number) to confirm this is your account.

5. Once your account has been confirmed, create a password, complete other corresponding information (i.e. graduation date) and read and accept the terms of service and privacy policy.

6. After acceptance you will land on your Profile Page of Purple Briefcase.

Company /Graduate School Profile  This links to company information which is searchable by industry, type of job, alumni, city, state or search all.  This is also a link to students’ preferred companies 2. College Crest  This links to the Benedict College Career Center  Students can see Career Development Center Staff profiles  Make an appointment directly with Career Development Center Staff  See office location for Career Development Staff  Directly email Career Development Center Staff 3. Career Path Houses links and pathways to assessments such as the US Department of Labor’s O*Net 4. Jobs Postings:  Searchable by customizable fields such as full time/part time, job type (accounting), location type, alumni…  Provides the job posting (from employers connected to Purple Briefcase) with job description, requirements, location, pay (if available) a. SCORE This is a student’s participation that is calculated by measuring progress on different tasks such as: creating or updating their profile, events attended, channels viewed, uploading of resume, researching jobs, reporting jobs, participating in forum discussions, favorite a company. 6. PROFILE a. A student will add attributes about themselves to create a profile. b. Upload resumes c. Link external sites like web-folio or LinkedIn profile d. Create an elevator pitch 7. EVENTS a. Search interesting events b. RSVP for upcoming campus events (this sends an email reminder at the time of registration and closer to the event time) 8. RECENT NOTIFICATIONS: Provides information on happenings such as new jobs, internships, events coming up and notifications direct to the student.

MYBENEDICT PORTAL To access your email account, please follow the instructions below. Open a web browser and type the URL: portal.office.com For your Username type: firstname.lastname##@my.benedict.edu (## = last 2 digits of student’s Jenzabar ID number.) Type password: Tigers#### (#### = last 4 digits of SSN.)

You will have 3 options to change your password.  Mobile  Alternative email (not your Benedict email address)  Security questions You must choose at least 2 of the 3 options. Even though you are configuring these options, you will not be able to change your password until the following semester. Please use the password that was given to you by IT.

After a successful login, please SELECT your Time Zone Then SELECT “Mail” to obtain your mail box. If you have any problems, contact IT by email only: it.services@benedict.edu

GRADES IN MYBENEDICT PORTAL If you already have access to the MyBenedict Portal (my.benedict.edu/ics) and viewed your midterm or final grade from the previous semester, please disregard the information below.

New Users Only If you do not have your MyBenedict access, do the following: Use any browser and enter the following address: My.benedict.edu/ics Then enter the following: BC ID Number: Jenzabar ID Number Password: A generated password from the Jenzabar EX System. (Password is case sensitive.) Once you have a successful login, click on the student tab. On the left side click the Grade Report. Select a term from the dropdown to see the grades for that term. Click View Midterm or Final Grade Report. If you have any problems, contact IT by email only: it.services@benedict.edu
