When I started on my journey to develop antioxidant rich skincare from indigenous botanicals to the province I had a dream to create something better, something made here, something healthy and special, made with proven research and with the utmost care. I enlisted the expertise of National Research Council, worked with Memorial University Business, Biology, Botanical Garden and several scientists and professionals who assisted with their knowledge and advice from the province... but without the enthusiasm of Dr. Hilary Rodriguez, I may well would not have started on this journey at all. His passion for natural products was a catalyst at the very beginning to keep me investigating new natural ways to formulate. Through many research projects we found amazing results, Partridgeberry releases more antioxidants as it simmers and becomes an extract or jam, either usage will improve our health. How exciting is that?! So we worked extensively on learning about 37 botanicals that grow here on the island and in Labrador. The results of this research was astoundingly positive. Through a Research and Development Corp Proof of Concept we successfully developed 5 extract blends with exponential benefits to improve anti-aging, acne and sensitive skin.
