I. Introduction

June 2013 was the beginning of Sunday. Packed with no more than 30 products, Sunday Naturals was headed into a promising future. https://web.archive.org/web/20130629065836/http://www.sunday.de:80/ By 2021, the picture has changed: ●● Has developed over 3,000 products; ●● Expanded its workforce to nearly 200 people; ●● New warehouse in Poland; ●● Expansion of European and Asian markets; ●● An increase in the allocation of responsibilities and an effort to eliminate micromanaging the already complicated process. ●● A need to update and create new workflows to face the increased challenges created by the sharp success in the last 2 years.


The success of Sunday Naturals is based on the utilization of current digital advances and technologies. It is a part of the digital revolution.

Why not make improvements? We must always strive to improve, make processes more efficient, and adopt a streamlined and holistic approach to any issue. With this, I propose improving the existing barcode creation workflow.


II. Options for enhancing the barcode creation workflow “Automation” - the word of the century!

There are several ways we could go about improving the barcode creation workflow: ●● ●● ●● ●●

Using existing “Barcode producer” + $299 Automator Plug-In (single license); Softmatic BarcodePlus - 1 user: €50, 2 users: €80 - https://www.softmatic.com/; Softmatic Plug-ins for Adobe CC products - for Indesign: $30, for Illustrator: $10; Softmatic Barcode REST API - all online, 1000 requests per month free: https//www.slavi-hristozov/tools/barcode ( user: barcode, pass: 123barcode456 ); ●● There are also plenty of scripts in various program languages to support Sunday’s efforts; ●● Odoo platform also has a barcode generator implemented within; ●● The existing workflow adopted for the design team - fewer people involved, no late queries, fewer steps, all in one team, NO cons. Ultimately, if the parties involved are interested, a meeting could be scheduled to discuss the pros and cons of each option.
