Vibration Exercise And The Positive Aspects

Vibration Exercise And The Positive Aspects You are not the only one if you have never been told about vibration exercise. Also called “whole body vibration†or WBV, it has been researched for more than 100 years. With the recent interest it has received in the United States, other countries for years have enjoyed this method of exercise which is low impact, fast and easy. The list of positive aspects is too long to list completely, but the main benefits include increased flexibility, increased physical endurance and strength, increased muscle mass, reduction in stress hormones, reduction in joint and muscle soreness, accelerated weight loss, and an improved experience of well-being. Vibration techniques were first developed by a Swedish doctor named Gustrav Zander in 1857. Displayed at two world fairs, Dr. Zander constructed several vibration machines. Comparable to today's health clubs or gyms, Dr, Zander used his machines in Zander institutes. In the Netherlands, these centers became rather popular and they started to pop up all over the world. In the 1890s, an American innovator named Dr. John Harvey Kellogg formulated his own vibration appliance. Touted to cure back discomfort, constipation and headaches, Dr. Kellog developed a chair which shook clients strongly. He later developed a standing base. In the 1960s the beginning of WBV was launched here in America. These machines developed in East Germany used an entirely distinct form of vibration known as rhythmic neuromuscular stimulation. Afterwards, Russian scientists learned of these techniques and continued to improve on the initial designs. WBV was studied on cosmonauts from where the Russians tried different techniques after they had been away on prolonged space missions. Muscle atrophy and weakness could be easily solved by using WBV where the cosmonaut's experienced complications from very long periods of weightlessness. Progressively, the Russians conducted much more research on WBV and were surprised at how muscle mass could be improved upon by just using WBV routinely. The vibration routines were also found to forestall injuries to athletes and aided in the process of healing during physical rehabilitation. WBV was used by Russian athletes during the Olympic Games in the 1960s. After the fall of Communism, the knowledge that the Russians had amassed since the 1960s became easily obtainable to their western and eastern counterparts. The technology continued to be studied and improved upon by various other researchers and scientists. WBV immediately flourished in Asian and Europe, but has only recently been discovered in the USA. At the beginning, only the very wealthy could afford WBV devices, but with improved technology and increasing interest by the open public, costs have steadily come down. For home exercise, there are some excellent machines available that can cost a few hundred dollars up to more sophisticated devices which can could thousands. In addition to the multitude of proven health and fitness benefits, vibration exercise is very simple to perform. As a routine form of exercise, even the elderly can take advantage of WBV as it is not difficult in any way. Often in under 10 minutes, this low impact exercise takes only a few minutes to carry out one treatment. It is possible to static or dynamic on the foundation. There are several designs of WBV available to users. Most are standing models; some have bars, some don't. Some designs will offer a selection of vibrations while others will have only one type of vibration setting. There are models that also come with pre-programmed exercise programs. Vibration Exercise And The Positive Aspects you choose should be based on the objectives you have and your physical condition when starting. Always speak with a medical professional before starting a WBV program, as you would with any type of exercise. Vibration exercising is ideal for those who would like to exercise but do not have the time to go to gym or detest regular exercising regimens. It provides many of the same benefits with less time and effort. Posture, balance, muscle firmness, and overall fitness are improved with a body vibration exercise machine.
