This legacy project for women and girls, spearheaded by Glasgow’s Education Services in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University and Women of the World Foundation, was created in 2021 where 2,500 young women from Glasgow’s Secondary Schools came together at “#GirlsAtCOP26 – The Solutions are Feminist” at the Glasgow Caledonian University.

A panel of experts including former Irish President Dr Mary Robinson, joined the girls to discuss the global issues around UN Sustainable Goal 5, alongside health, environment and gender as well as other challenges that can affect women and girls’ bodies.

Photographer Kris Kesiak who documented the events said: “Getting the opportunity to meet, listen to, and photograph such a diverse range of women was a privilege. It was a joy to have my images on display at Skypark, a place I know so well. It was also the very first portrait exhibition there I believe which makes it even more special”.

Yoga

Have you considered Workplace Yoga? With 1 in 4 people suffering from work related stress and resulting health issues, yoga is a good way of supporting health and wellbeing in the workplace. It provides the opportunity to switch off, move the body and connect with the breath.

We recently hosted a free taster session for staff across the campus with Nicola Darroch from Your Flow Yoga, a 200 hour qualified yoga teacher, registered with Yoga Alliance. She has special training in menopausal yoga and all the required certification to ensure staff are in safe hands.

Your Flow Yoga offers a variety of options tailored to suit different workspaces and employee demographics. Nicola’s philosophy is that Yoga is for Everybody and Every BODY. You don’t need a flexible body to do yoga, it is about so much more than being able to touch your toes.
