Sampa the Great a Zambian recording and performing artist based in Australia. Throughout her career, Sampa the Great has had some major accomplishments. One of her first songs Final Form, was featured in the opening scene of Netflix’s first African series. Her song ‘Never Forget ‘is featured on the trailer of Black Panther 2. She also sang the theme song on our first Zambian Netflix animation, Supa Team 4! Isn’t she impressive? And that’s not all. Between 2017 and 2023 Sampa the Great won a total of 20 awards! In 2022 Sampa the Great was billed as a special guest on Billie Eilsh’s ‘Happier than ever’ world tour in Australia and New Zealand. Sampa featured on the Jimmy Fallon show as a musical guest and performed a song titled ‘Let Me Be Great’ from her 2022 album ‘As Above, So Below’. Sampa is an amazingly talented artist who is out there putting Zambia on the map as she continues to grow.

Malenga Mulendama is the woman behind Netflix’s first-ever African animation series, Supa Team 4! The show follows four high school girls living in Lusaka, Zambia who become superheroes with the help of Mama K and her goat! Malenga said she was inspired by her Zambian roots, and with this show, she wants to empower young kids and show that women in her home country Zambia can be superheroes too! The sky has no limit and Malenga Mulenda is proof of that!

Dr Melissa Kapulu is a post-doctoral research scientist who focuses on combating diseases such as Malaria. Dr Kapulu was recently part of the team that developed a groundbreaking new malaria vaccine that can be produced at a large scale and approved by WHO. A Zambian woman leading in medicine? We love to see it!

Dr Monde Muyangwa, PhD, was appointed by US President Biden as the Assistant Administrator to the Bureau for Africa at the United States Agency for International Development. It took a whole US Senate confirmation hearing to confirm her talk about being in the corridors of power! Dr Muyangwa, based in Washington DC, USA, as a young girl made a commitment to give back to Zambia and to give back to Africa. In her position she is doing just that!

Chadzanso Mwenda is a Zambian actress. You may know her from shows such as Love Games and Ubutuku. Chadzanso is now a Nigerian-Nollywood actress. She crossed over from the Zambian movie industry to work in the Nigerian movie industry. She has since been in a movie titled ‘Just the Two of Us’, and a reality TV series called ‘Being in Nollywood’, as a Zambian representative. She has worked alongside top actors, directors, and producers in Nollywood such as Chinneylove Eze and Wole Oja. She is currently a nominee for Best Female Actress at the African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA).

Julia Rose is a Zambian-American actress who has guest starred in famous American shows like CSI: NY and The Star Trek Enterprise. She has made a name for herself in Hollywood, after studying Diplomatic History at university. Guess she found her passion in the end!

Emeli Sande is a famous award-winning singer-songwriter. She has worked alongside other artists, writing songs for Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Childish Gambino, and many more, but you most likely know some of her songs, ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ and ‘ Next to Me’. She has also performed at the Grammys, the most prestigious and significant award ceremony in the music industry! Get it, girl! We love seeing our people thrive.

Dambisa Moyo put some respect on her name, she is now Baroness Moyo, a member of the House of Lords in the United Kingdom. She is also a global economist and author who has written five books, of which four are New York Times best sellers. She recently was inducted into the American Aademcy of Arts and Science joining other members such as President Barack Obama, Glenn Close, Albert Einstein etc.
