Cali Frankovic Photography www.CaliFrankovic.com Gorgeous weather and stunning, vibrant fall colors added to the organic, rustic charm of Steamboat Springs locals Kelsey Mueller and Casey Roach’s wedding day.
Western Welcome
The couple threw a warm Westernthemed welcome dinner for guests arriving early to town for their wedding weekend. Dressed in Western attire and custom-made hats from Steamboat Hatter, Casey and Kelsey brought in local caterer Routt Wild Harvest for a sustainable menu designed specifically from Routt County farms.
Rehearsal Dinner
The wedding party gathered the night before at the loft banquet room in the historic Ore House at the Pine Grove Restaurant for an intimate rehearsal dinner. Adding to the wedding’s Western theme, the space – once a hay loft – offers a full-service bar, dance floor and private bathrooms.
Ceremony
Kelsey and Casey tied the knot at the Steamboat Ski Area’s Thunderhead Lawn, which provided panoramic views of the valley for the perfect mountaintop wedding. With the help of planning by Steamboat Resort’s Rachel Radetsky and day-of coordinator Jess Feinerman of JC Productions, the couple said their vows with a view of fall colors across the Steamboat landscape.
Flowers
Wild Hare Floral Co. brought to life Kelsey's vision of dried, recycled bouquets and floral arrangements. A mixture of fresh blooms and dried flowers was used to complement the pastel color palette. Coordinating with One Fine Day Productions to create the stunning, triangular arch, the couple added flower statements for an extra boho touch.
Attire
Kelsey wore a bohemian lace gown with a one-of-a-kind cape veil from designer Beloved Unconditionally Yours by Casablanca Bridal. “I had a vision of what I wanted, but I made sure to try on options that were completely different styles,” she says. Dried flower crowns and pastel bridesmaids’ dresses added subtle color on the already-vibrant day.
Casey complemented the eclectic look with a slate gray Enzo-designed suit from Allen’s, dress shoes from Steamboat Shoe Company and cufflinks passed down from his grandfather for a personal touch. Groomsmen looked sleek and neutral in light gray suits and silver ties.

reception venue. Having frequented Strings Music Festival many times for live music events, the couple chose to have their reception at the world-renowned music venue. A traditional, sit-down dinner fully catered by Steamboat Meat & Seafood began the night, and local band Buffalo Commons – who are also close friends with the couple – performed for an unforgettable night of live music and dancing.
Dessert
The couple sweetened the night with an arrangement of goodies at the dessert table. Offering options for every type of sweet tooth, the focal point of the delicacies was the beautiful three-tiered mountain landscape wedding cake designed by Sweet Dreams Steamboat.
Live Wedding Painting
Kelsey and Casey wanted a piece of their wedding night to have with them forever, so they hired local artist Carol Jean to capture the highlights of their wedding night with an easel and a paintbrush. Incorporating the core elements of their wedding – fall colors, Mount Werner, music and dancing – the beautiful art piece now hangs in the home of the newlyweds.
