Welcome Angus Enthusiasts and fellow Cattlemen to the 2024 Skeeter Creek Production Sale.
Stephanie and I are so blessed to be in this business and for all the great friends we’ve made along the way. We are very thankful for our neighbors, and customers who have supported our program!
Our sale this year will start a new path on our Angus journey as we will no longer be partnering with long-time friends Keith Gebhardt (Clearwater Cattle Company) and Jake Thompson (Four Hill Farms) & their families. We thank them for their support and wish them the best of luck in their futures. The 2024 edition will be conducted online through DV Auction on April 27-28. Please accept our invitation to join us on April 27th for an Open House to enjoy a meal, visit, & evaluate the offering. Of course we welcome you anytime and encourage you to visit the ranch or call so we can discuss how we may help your herd move forward.
Bidding will begin @ noon on Saturday and end on Sunday, April 28, 2024 @ 7:00 pm CST. The bidding will end in race horse style. All lots will close at the same time. Bidding extended on all lots for an additional five minutes with each additional bid on any lot. We continue to use primarily tried and proven bulls in our breeding program. Our goal is to provide cow-calf operations with proven and profitable genetics from a cow herd that gets it done on grass, mineral & fresh water.
The good Lord has blessed us mightily to be ranchers. It is a way of life that is hard to shake. We are mostly perennial optimists and the cattle future looks very bright indeed. That’s good - but the cattleman knows that there will be ups and downs amid the ups and downs.
Enjoy the ride - God bless you all!

A big time herd bull prospect by Rider Pride out of our donor cow D10. 319 turned heads all summer and came in as the heaviest weaning calf. He did not slow down on feed and has continued to lead the pen all winter long. I cannot say enough about his dam. Rachel D10 is a beautiful 8 year old that we have flushed the past two years with great success. She is built the way an Angus cow should be with a bold, deep rib; perfect udder and teat placement, super fertility and extremely docile. She is the first natural calf from our 4122 donor and stems from a cow family started in 1954 that in eleven generations has put daughters into 94 herds! 319 offers performance and a +11 $EN! A flush sister sells as lot 18.
This Rider Pride son is a herd bull prospect that is very similar to Lot 1. He has excelled at every turn as well. 318 ratioed 109 at weaning and was the heaviest calf in his pasture. 318’s genomic profile ranks him in the top 2% for WW and top 5% YW. His dam D29 is a SAV Mandan grandaughter whose sire was double bred to SA V 8180 Traveler 004 and dam is backed by Hyline Right Time 338, 598 Bando & other legends. She always brings in a good one and we have retained several daughters.

316 was my favorite calf in the pasture last summer. He is a little more moderate in his build, thick made with a heavy muscled rear quarter. His dam is a prolific Thunder daughter who sticks AI every year. She stems from the Lady Viking cow family which is the largest on the ranch and well respected in the Angus world. 316 ratioed 100 at weaning in a very competitive pasture with short grass. 316 is a Maternal dream, don’t miss this good one.

These Duke calves are from ET sisters and are backed by some of the best cows at Skeeter Creek. The feeder calves they sire should have plenty of muscle and style. The females should be easy fleshing, have great udders, structurally very sound and have Angus Breed Character. Lot 4 may have a slight edge in overall performance, but don’t be fooled with the AWW of Lot 5 as they were in different pastures last summer and all the calves came in lighter from that pasture. On April 1, they both weighed the same, and Lot 5 definitely has the maternal edge. You could not go wrong with either one of these exceptional bulls.

These ET brothers are very much alike. They should have the ability to improve convenience traits like Foot and Udder Quality, Fertility, Cow Energy and Maternal value. Their sire OCC Rear End is an easy fleshing, heavy muscled bull that has stood the test of time. His daughters in our herd are becoming favorites. Rear End ranks near the top of the breed for CLAW, ANGLE, HP, and $M. Their donor dam Rachel 4122 is a Sinclair Added Value cow whose dam was out of a “local legend” bull, Pine Creek Traveler 124-1347. Pine Creek had a huge impact on Wayne Wildes Herd. Rachel 4122 is very docile, fertile, wide hipped, good uddered with excellent feet. She will calve AI any day now to Ellingson Profound and we have successfully flushed her 3 times. These bulls have value you can’t fully capture with EPD’s. Lot 6 should work for heifers. A flush sister sells as Lot 19.

A really good herd bull prospect in 340. We purchased his dam as an embryo from McCumbers and she is a real gentle cow that is backed by Miss Wix 2002 of McCumber stemming from one of the best cow families in the breed. His sire S Coalition 0258 is a U2 Coalition son that is very correct in his structure, with great feet and legs who settles cows effectively. 0258 is backed by generations of donors from the Queen Essa family at Spicklers and his dam S Queen Essa 810 is a direct daughter of Vermillion Dateline 7078. 340 always caught my eye moving about the pasture last summer. He is as maternal as you can make them and ranks in the top 1% for Docility!
Charcoal 359 is also a Coalition sired, maternal made bull. This herd bull prospect was raised by Paul’s Bardolena 9104 cow that he claimed grand champion overall female with at the Clearwater County Fair a few years ago. She is gentle, fertile, moderate and has a beautiful udder. She just calved AI to Sitz Stellar as I am writing this. 359 is an attractive, good muscled bull who will get your cows settled.

This moderate, good footed bull is out of the popular ABS bull Broadview. Broadview 304 has a very balanced EPD Profile. His dam is a Chisum 255 x Connealy Thunder so there is plenty of maternal built in. 304 is big scrotaled and very quiet. His genomics rank him in the top 10% of the breed for Claw, Angle, Scrotal, and top 15% for WW EPD.

This Patriarch son has been coming on strong in the feed pen. He has a strong EPD profile and is large scrotaled. 323 is backed by a beautiful 5 year old McCumber Rito 5280 daughter from the famous Lady Viking cow family. She is very fertile and has a well attached udder with four evenly sized & placed teats. Lots of maternal value in this good bull.

Skeeter Creek Extra 302 is masculine and deep ribbed. 302 is the #1 CED bull in the offering but he has plenty of power! His Rear End dam did a great job on her first calf and bred back on time as well! She is very moderate, angular made and has a gorgeous udder with very small teats. He has a high Libido and great breed character. Heifer suitable. Tattoo: 302 Reg:AAA *20794155
About the 4X13’s.....we were able to breed some of our own heifers to the high selling bull last year Skeeter Creek EXT 206 (4X13 x Resource). We had no difficulties at all and the heifer calves averaged 70lbs and the bulls averaged 74lbs. The calves have excellent vigor and get up and nurse quickly. Lydia
Another good Calving Ease son by 4X13. 310 is very smooth made and has a small angus head like a true calving ease bull should. 310 is also the number 2 milk EPD bull in the sale and carries the CAB logo. Heifer suitable.
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Marks Gospel 8:36&37
Here is a high maternal bull who is moderate framed and heifer suitable as well. 343 is put together very well with smooth shoulders and a great angus head. He is out of a very nice Broken Bow daughter who is climbing the ranks in our herd. 343’s sire is a Paxton son out of our Miss Wix 902 cow that we retained for in herd use - he was the dominant breeding bull in our multisire pasture in ‘22 and did a great job settling heifers last beeding season. 362 is the youngest bull in the sale but weaned near the top. This Paxton grandson is masculine and stout with a herd bull presence about him. His sire Paxton 114 has exceptional foot quality. Paxton 362 is out of a young Bushwacker dam who bred back early while raising a big calf. Cows only.

Rumbler got his name at a very young age as he was very energetic and playful with his contemporaries. He also had a cool, all bull look to him from the start. He is a long fronted, smooth made bull with good structure and foot quality. His dam is a Connealy Thunder daughter that always raises a good calf. His sire, “905” is the high seller from 2020 who is still working hard for Joe Grones at LTD Acres. His calves have been well recieved in our past sales and for a long bodied bull 905 has maintainted structural integrity and very good feet and legs. Rumbler 338 is the spittin’ image of his dad and ranks genomically in the top 2% for claw and heifer pregnancy. Fertile, good footed bulls make fertile, long lasting cows.

348 isout of the high-selling bull in 2020, Longbow 905, as well. He has a classic calving ease appearance and a great angus head. His dam is from a very good line of cows who have been productive for us. His third dam D29 is now 10 and vibrant as ever. She produced lot 2 in this sale and we’ve kept every daughter. The fourth dam U12 produced to 14 yrs when, after raising twin bulls, came up open that fall. 348 ranks genomically in the top 6% for scrotal, top 12% claw, top 18% milk EPD & 25% BW EPD. The last bull in the sale book but not the least; 348 Ratioed 110 @ weaning, has maternal strength, and is heifer suitable.
Flashy ET sister to the lot 1 Bull. Hard to let go of these Rachel females. Her genomics rank in top 2% WW, 7% YW, 5% CL, 6% ANG, and top 6% SC. $M is top 15%

Lot 22
We are offering two groups of Commercial Angus heifers from our replacement pen. These will be sorted by size. Lot 21 will be the larger heifers with more frame and the lot 22 group will have less frame. There will be 4 heifers per lot and each lot sells 4 times the money bid. In the videos lot 21 will have purple tags and lot 22 will have yellow tags.
About our herd...
The Skeeter Creek herd is enrolled in the AAA Maternal Plus program. All calves are reported to the association through this program and all cows are given disposal reasons/reason no calf when applicable. This gives us a more accurate view on production and we make no exceptions for poor performance. The AAA recently started a functional longevity EPD (FL), as a Maternal Plus herd we were given EPD’s on our dams for functional longevity (FL) and we are happy to report that all but 3 cows were above breed average for this trait. Skeeter Creek Longbow 905 ranked higher for FL than every sire on the main sire list. Semen is available on 905 from LTD Acres, Buy these females with confidence.
The heifers; whether registered or commercial, will sell in good breeding condition but fairly green as they have not been fed hard at all. Last breeding season we sent 21 out to pasture in similar condition and they came in 100% bred with only one bred outside of 42 days from turnout.
