Beginning his first season with the Hawks is video coordinator Chris Koclanes.
Joining Cindy Griffin's staff in August, Koclanes comes to Hawk Hill after serving as a volunteer assistant coach this past summer at Dartmouth. While with the Big Green, he was an integral part of helping the new coaching staff with recruiting.
Prior to his time at Dartmouth, Koclanes spent the 2012-13 season as director of basketball operations at William and Mary. With the Tribe, he was responsible for travel coordination, managing opponent film exchange, organizing and maintaining recruiting database, coordinating community service events, and responsible for team managers. Off the court, Koclanes served as primary contact for alumni, family, friends and fans of William and Mary women's basketball, while directing the team's ball kid program.
After graduation, Koclanes spent two years working as a financial advisor in New York City. During those two years, he remained active in basketball, working as a volunteer coach at the New Rochelle Boys and Girls Club in the summer of 2010, and as head coach of the Hooperstown Huskies AAU team in 2011. Earning a finance degree from Old Dominion, he is currently working towards a master's degree in organization development and leadership. A native of Pelham, N.Y., Koclanes currently resides in Philadelphia.

Shields will continue to oversee the area of compliance, as she has been the director of compliance services for the past 14 years, after serving as the compliance coordinator from 1993 to 1998.
A former standout for the Hawks in basketball, cross country, and softball, she was a three-time All-Big 5 selection in basketball. Shields, formerly Dunne, was inducted into the Big 5 Hall of Fame in 1991 and into the Saint Joseph's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001.
A 1982 graduate of Saint Joseph's, Shields was an assistant basketball coach for the Hawks from 1987 to 1993. She is entering her 20th year as the color analyst for the Saint Joseph's women's basketball internet broadcasts. A resident of Drexel Hill, Pa., she and her husband Jim, a 1981 SJU graduate, have four children, James Jr., Kerri, Erin, and Shannon. Erin is currently a senior with the Hawksʼ womenʼs basketball program.

The Hawk Will Never Die!
A 2010 graduate of Old Dominion, Koclanes served as a scout team player with the Monarchs from 2008-10. Also assisting with managerial responsibilities, he helped Old Dominion post a 36-27 record over two seasons, including a WNIT Second Round appearance in 2010. Additionally, Koclanes led the Monarchs' club tennis team to the 2010 Club Tennis National Tournament and a national ranking.
Entering her 22nd year in administration at Saint Josephʼs, Renie Shields is in her second year as associate athletic director for varsity programs and senior women's administrator, having been promoted to the post in September 2011.
A member of the Saint Josephʼs athletic department since 1978, Kathy MacDonald is in her sixth year as the administrative assistant for the womenʼs basketball program.
MacDonald and her husband, Charlie, reside in Drexel Hill, Pa. They have six children.
