FITNESS & AQUATICS

School is out and summer has officially begun! This summer, the San Jose pool is without a doubt the place to be. During the summer months much of the focus typically shifts toward the pool, but this year pool utilization seems to be off the charts. Between private pool parties, aqua aerobics, swim team, swim lessons, gaga ball, and our members simply enjoying some pool time, the fun is never ending.

This year, the pool may seem a little different thanks to a few new upgrades. First, a reminder that you can only enter through the gate located near the fitness center entrance and all members and their guests must check into the pool. Second, with our new and improved pool furniture, we ask that the umbrellas do not move around the pool deck; this can cause damage and shorten their life span. Our Food and Beverage team has significantly enhanced their service with a new poolside bar and upgraded menus. A reminder that we do not allow outside food or beverage into the pool area other than water bottles. If you haven’t already made a habit of enjoying our pool in the summer, this is the year to start! Our amazing summer staff are 100% focused on making sure that everyone has an incredible, fun, and safe experience at the pool.

For all of our aqua aerobics fanatics, our very popular aqua classes started last month and will continue until the weather gets too cold to bear (usually early October). These classes are an hour long and take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:30am. The water is the perfect place to get in a great workout no matter what your fitness level. You can moderate your own intensity level and you can work around any achy joints that may hinder you on land. I highly encourage anyone that might be thinking about aqua aerobics to get out there and give it a try, you can thank me later for all the great results you’ll get!

I look forward to seeing everyone enjoy some fun in the sun and a happy summer!
