FROM THE PRESIDENT
Another month gone by and we are halfway through 2022!
A huge thank you to our Golf Course Maintenance team and all their hard work during aerification. The golf course, post-aerification, is the best I’ve witnessed in all my years at San Jose. The weather cooperated and provided the maintenance staff with almost perfect conditions to complete their work. The most noticeable and one residual issue is on the greens, where intrusion grasses were removed and replaced with sod from nursery green. Dry conditions have prevailed through mid-June and the course, as well as our yards, need some rain.
As many of you have probably noticed, construction of the new tennis court in the dirt lot has begun with the removal of several trees and roots. These are the first steps in the process of adding an additional state-of-the-art Har Tru Hydro court – this will ensure that we do not forgo any valuable court space when we begin the conversion of court #2 to pickleball in the fall. The old tennis shed has also been removed and concrete has been poured to begin working on drainage and physical construction of the new tennis shed. and has successfully maintained a winning record by finishing their regular season undefeated. They will compete from July 22 to July 24 at the River City Championship hosted by Bolles to retain their title of River City Champions. We wish you the best of luck and bring home the gold!
Our pool cats are not the only thing making a splash; our new dining services and pool bar have been a huge hit this, Summer. We will continue to monitor member feedback and participation as this will be critical as we begin the next planning stages in our future enhancements including, in the design of our hardscape for any pool renovations.
For all who could not attend, I’m here to say the Catalina Wine Mixer was an extremely successful event. I have heard nothing but positive comments from all who attended. With about 170 people in attendance, the team did a wonderful job of planning and running the event. Kudos to all involved. This is a testament to our associates and their efforts to continually provide our members with an exceptional experience.
