ALUMNAE NEWS ’80 KRIS CANGELOSI ’80 Kris Cangelosi was among the 2018 Esprit de Femme Award recipients honored by the LSU Women’s Center on March 16. Established in 2009, the Esprit de Femme Award is an acknowledgement of those individuals who have made exceptional efforts toward the advancement of women in Louisiana. The award honors individuals who elevate the status of women in the community through their contributions to the arts, education, healthcare, business and industry, charity and civic engagement. Kris established the Cangelosi Dance Project in 2006 in Baton Rouge. Her students dance in 75 free performances each year at libraries, youth camps, retirement homes and schools. Kris serves as co-chair for Dancing for Big Buddy, raising funds for educational programs for underserved children. In 2014, Kris received the Arts Leadership Award, one of the annual Louisiana Culture Awards given by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor to individuals and entities that have made outstanding contributions to Louisiana culture. ’83 CATHERINE DENT ’83 Catherine Dent gueststarred in the 100th episode of ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The program aired on March 9. Catherine returned to her role as General Hale. She previously appeared in episodes airing on December 22 and March 2. ’96 THE REVEREND ELIZABETH MILES SOILEAU ACTON

’98 Kendall Coye Hebert has been hired as the director of communications and development by the Big Buddy Program in Baton Rouge. She will oversee public relations/marketing, branding, social media, development and community relations. She has served in the non-profit sector for much of her career, most notably with the American Red Cross and Capital Area United Way. She is a member of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, Women in Media and the Port Allen Rotary Club, which she serves as secretary. She has been a wedding coordinator at St. Jude Catholic Church and at various churches within the Diocese of Baton Rouge for the past 14 years. She and husband Ryan Hebert (CHS class of ’98) have two children: Connor, age 12, and Hannah, age 10. ’05 EMILY GRAY ’05 Emily Gray is the medical science liaison for the Neurology and Immunology U.S. Medical Affairs team at EMD Serono Inc., the American and Canadian subsidiary and biopharmaceutical business of Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany). She graduated magna cum laude from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2010 with a bachelor of science in chemistry and a minor in biology. She graduated cum laude from Xavier University of Louisiana College of Pharmacy as a doctor of pharmacy in 2014. Her post-graduate training continued with two years of pharmacy residency training specializing as a critical care pharmacist at The University of Chicago Medicine. In the fall of 2016, she passed the Board of Pharmacy Specialties exam to be recognized as a board-certified critical care pharmacist. She worked as a critical care clinical pharmacist in the trauma, neurology and surgical intensive care units at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center from 2016 to 2017 before accepting her current position. ’05 WHITNEY WALKER PRESLEY ’05 Whitney Walker Presley was accepted into the Ph.D. program in Educational Leadership & Research: P-12 Educational Leadership at Louisiana State University. She received a master’s degree in educational leadership from LSU in 2017. In 2016, she was named Elementary Teacher of the Year in her school district. Whitney currently works as a mathematics specialist in the City of Baker School System.

’08 KATE GREMILLION

’08 Kate Gremillion, a 2012 graduate of Loyola University, founded Mavenly + Co. to help young women discover their skills and find happiness in their careers. The Atlanta-based company offers podcasts, workshops, private coaching services and workshops for companies. At Loyola, Kate was student body president and the president of the Kappa Tau Alpha journalism honor society. She enjoys attending live concerts, listening to podcasts and traveling. 18 | S J A C O N N E C T I O N S Alumnae News

’96 The Reverend Elizabeth Miles Soileau Acton was ordained on January 7 as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She is serving as associate pastor for Mission and Education at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. She and her husband, Andy, also a Presbyterian minister, have two children, Katie and Davis.
