THE CONVENTIONAL HEAD SHAPE The conventional cartoon head is comprised of four elements: the upper head, the lower head, the neck, and the hair. It may surprise you to see “neck” and “hair” listed among the basic elements of the head. But everything is subject to exaggeration in cartooning, and therefore no area is left untouched.
