Coaching Staff Kareem Jackson Interim Head Track and Field Coach Kareem Jackson takes over as the interim head coach for the men’s and women’s track and field programs. Jackson spent last season as the top assistant coach the Cougars primarily working in the sprint, hurdles and jump events. Jackson has extensive collegiate coaching experience at Lafayette (Pa.) College and the University of Chicago. He was the assistant at Lafayette from 2005 until joining SIUE. He previously had been the assistant at Chicago from 2003 to 2005. At Lafayette, the student-athletes under his watch broke eight school records, qualified for the NCAA East Regional eight times, and qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Championships 34 times. One student-athlete was a U.S. Junior Nationals qualifier. At Chicago, Jackson coached two school records and an NCAA qualifier in the women’s high jump. Jackson also coached at Thornridge High School in Dolton, where he developed a strength and conditioning program for athletes while coaching the hurdles, sprinters and jumpers. A member of the United States Track Coaches Association, Jackson holds a Level I coaching certification as well as a Level II coaching certification in sprints, hurdles and jumps. Jackson received a bachelor of arts degree in general studies and mathematics from Lewis University in 2002. He helped Lewis to three Great Lakes Valley Conference titles and earned AllConference honors in the hurdles and high jump events. He was the 1998 GLVC high jump champion.

Eileen McAllister Interim Head Cross Country Coach Eileen McAllister has been named the Interim Head Coach for the cross country program at SIUE. McAllister was most recently the assistant coach for the program. SIUE named McAllister its Strength, Conditioning, and Training Coach, prior to the 2008-09 season. McAllister holds a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a Level II Endurance certification from USA Track and Field. She also is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a health and fitness instructor. She is responsible for the organization, administration, and development of effective conditioning programs for all of SIUE’s intercollegiate athletic programs. McAllister works with individual student-athletes to provide regular assessments and the monitoring of conditioning activity. She also works with coaches, student-athletes, and athletic trainers, demonstrating a concern for the health, safety, and welfare of SIUE’s student-athletes. McAllister previously has been a personal trainer at The Fitness Edge in St. Louis, and also has been a part of SIUE’s athletic staff in several different capacities. She has been an assistant cross country coach, head cross country coach, and assistant track and field coach since 2004. She also served as an assistant cross country and track and field coach as well as a personal trainer and exercise program specialist at the University of Miami. McAllister holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Washington University in 1999. She also assisted the track and field and cross country programs at Washington University in 2000-2001. McAllister later earned a master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Miami in 2008.
