What if I am admitted to SIUC but want to attend in a different semester? If you decide you want to come to Southern in a semester other than the one for which you are admitted, you must contact SIUC Undergraduate Admissions before the semester for which you have been admitted starts. We will hold your records for one semester. After that, we will automatically delete your records unless you request admission for another term. If you don’t let us know you want us to hold your records, you will have to begin the application process again – including paying the application fee. If you have questions, call SIUC Undergraduate Admissions at 618/536-4405 or email us at joinsiuc@siu.edu.
What if I want to cancel my Student Health Insurance? The fees you pay every semester include a Student Health Insurance Plan. If you already have another health insurance policy and don’t want to be included in the plan we offer, you may request a refund of that part of your fees. To do that, apply for the refund by the Friday of the second week of classes (in either the fall or the spring semesters) or by the Friday of the first week of class in the summer semester. Apply at the Student Health Center for the refund. Note: You will need to apply for the refund every semester. If you have questions or need more information, check www.shc.siuc.edu or call us at 618/453-3311.
