Top Fall Hair Color Trends & Ideas https://www.sishair.com/ Here are 6 tips and tricks to help you change hair color for the fall season.

1. Try out lowlights Lowlights are darker pieces of hair. They are dyed underneath layers and around the neck to provide dimension and movement to the hair. They are a great way to go darker for the fall without dyeing all your hair and give the hair a richer, vibrant look, and fight faded highlights. Besides, they are a great way to maintain some of that sun-kissed feel while still transitioning into a swoon-worthy fall style.

2. Consider the autumn palette The autumn palette includes beautiful burnt reds, warm golden tones, chocolate hues, and deep browns. During this season, red accents in brown hair, copper strands, strawberry blondes and pink undertones are surefire way to make heads turn. When choosing hair color, you should match your natural hair color, and simply go a few shades darker.

3. Consider skin tone Before choosing hair color, you have to consider your skin tone by looking at the veins in your wrist.  

If they’re blue, you’re cool-toned. If they’re green, you’re warm-toned.

Alternatively, you can hold up a shirt in a shade of blue or green beside your face and then hold one up in a shade of yellow or red to do a quick color test. You have cool-toned skin if your skin looks better beside the blue or green shirt. You likely have neutral toned skin if your skin looks great beside both shades. If you have cool skin tones, you don't need to go much darker with your hair color. You can try out earthy colors like ebony brown and mocha brown, with golden or red highlights if you have a warm skin tone.

4. Go darker progressively Darken your hair progressively is the best way to avoid color regret and to ensure healthy locks along the way.

5. Don’t forget about the brows Hair color should go well with your brows. You can find a new product to fill your brows in with, or you’ll need to tint them to match. It is recommended to pick a shade that matches the lightest highlight in your hair.

6. Color treated hair needs TLC Dyeing your hair dries it out is not a secret. Use hair products specifically designed for color treated hair to keep hair looking healthy and shiny. Or, you can choose an alcohol-free and sulfatefree shampoo and conditioner, which will be less likely to strip the hair of its color or dry it out even more. Let hair air dry. Do not use hot styling tools, for these can scorch the hair, open up the ends, and cause the dye to slip out. If you must use hot tools, you should use a low to medium heat setting.

Tips  

Make use of dry shampoo as often as possible. The more you wash your hair, the faster it will fade. If you feel that your hair color is fading quickly, you can try color depositing shampoos.
