How Are Hair Extensions Done http://www.sishair.com/how-are-hair-extensions-done Before talking about the three approaches to apply the hair extensions to your own hair, I’d like to introduce some basic information about that. Hair extensions are made to help people add length, fullness or totally cover as hair wigs.Human hair and synthetic hair are two different kinds.

Synthetic hair, which is sold pre-styled has low heat resistance so they cannot be curled or straightened. Human hair coming from natural human hair can be chemical processed like perm and dye and its texture can be changed into curl or straight or different colors. Remy hair is the most common one including virgin and nonvirgin hair. Also, by observing whether the cuticles are intact we can divide the hair extensions into cuticle hair and non-cuticle hair. Cuticle hair is hair that all the hair strands are in the same direction, for example all the tips are in one side and bottoms are in the other. Non-cuticle hair is easy to tangle and has more fractions. Remy hair belongs to the category of cuticle hair since it

comes from single donor. Another distinction differs by region. Hair extensions are named after the place of production and have different color and texture due to regions. Asian hair has larger diameter of each strand and this can add the fullness to the hair while African hair has a flatter, ribbon-like cross-section. So before choosing hair extensions you have to know your purpose and maybe ask the stylists for help to purchase a most suitable one.

There are three methods to apply the hair on your own: fusion, weaving and clip-in. 1. The most popular way of fusion method is to melt and use the keratin to make the hair extensions adhere to natural hair and bond the two strands together. So if your hair texture is very much similar to the hair extensions you’ve chosen, this is a good way to apply but still, you are supposed to go to hairdresser’s to do that because it takes more time and skills. 2. And weaving method is much easier. Taking sewing for example, it doesn’t need chemicals but just braid your own hair close to the scalp and then sew or bond hair extensions to the braids. Sewing needs a special needle, thread and longer time than bonding, which is called ‘Quick Weave’. 3. The third one is called clip-in method, which can be done by yourself. In this way you have to buy some special hair weaves with clip-ins already sewn, or you can buy clips and sew them on your hair weft. Then you only need to part your own hairs and attach the hair weaves to the scalp as close as possible. But you have to consider how to make the clips less obvious as well.
