From the perspective of someone who knows truly little on sport, especially Rugby, it was refreshing to speak to James and get an insight into juggling sixth form and a sport he holds close to his heart, as well as recently receiving an award that has furthered his intent of going professional in rugby league.
"What was the award you received? And on a personal level what does it mean to you?" "Do you have a rugby idol?"
“So, I won the under 19 player of the year award for the Warrington Wolves.”
“I was obviously really proud of myself and honored to receive this award, especially being in my first year of the academy.”

"How old were you when you started to play rugby and what is your earliest memory of playing?" I hold the sport close to my heart as my dad was a coach for a rugby team.
Regarding my earliest memory, it would have to be the Manchester tournaments. The anticipation and nervousness I would get from it was sickly but that stopped as soon as the game started.”
“I would have to say my dad. I have always looked up to him and rugby is something we can share together. But for famous rugby players I would say, Owen Farrel, I think he’s awesome.”
"How are you managing school expectations whilst enduring a competitive sport?"
“I do have to admit I find it difficult, and I envy people who find it easy. Training 5 times a week, mainly on weekdays 3-6 - after a long day at college it can take it out of me. But it’s all worth it in the end, I prioritise college work over rugby and friends when I need to.”
"For you, what advice would you give to people in any sport?"
“Time management is a key aspect of being part of a sport, especially a competitive one. But I say go for it, regardless of what sport you take part of give it 100%.”
