TUTHILL HOUSE AND GARDENS AGES: 2–3 Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation at the Tuthill House and Gardens! Your child will enjoy creating a four-leaf clover canvas and conquering an obstacle course—climbing rainbows, jumping shamrocks, and racing for a pot of gold. We'll break for themed snacks, then finish by crafting a crown to wear all day. Registration required.

INTRODUCTION TO T-BALL

DUNHAM PARK FIELD #11 AGES: 4–5 Introduction to T-ball provides the ideal entry-level play for boys and girls who may go on to other advanced levels of the game. This introduction series teaches baseball and softball fundamentals such as hitting, running, throwing, and fielding. T-ball is the perfect activity for your little one to get into! Every week will be something new, bringing everything together for actual gameplay at the end of the series! Registration required.

PAINT AND PLANT

FALLS PARK OPEN AIR SHELTER AGES: 2–5 Just in time for Mother's Day! Participants will paint a flowerpot with their hands and then plant their own flower to take home and gift to mom. While the pots dry, children will embark on a scavenger hunt in search of items needed to keep their flowers alive. Registration required.

UPPER SHERMAN PARK AGES: 2–6 Run, jump, and jam! Join us for fun fitness-related activities. Enjoy various energy-burning activities like inflatables, crafts, and more. Children must be supervised by someone aged 15 or older. No registration is required.

GALACTiC ADv EN TuRE UPPER TUTHILL PARK MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU! Join Michael and Jaren from Storyland Children’s Theatre as we jump into a morning of fun as galactic heroes! Learn silly songs, make your own lightsaber and shadow puppets, and explore storytelling as familiar characters from a galaxy far, far away. Wear your favorite Star Wars clothing or costume to create even more magic. Registration required.

AGE: 6–9 Brace yourself for a hands-on experience where you can explore all things messy and discover the wonders of science in a fun and interactive way! Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to unleash your inner scientist as we dive into a world of ooze, slime, and elephant toothpaste. Registration required.

AGES: 6–9 Birdwatching can help build patience, concentration, and observation while allowing children to develop a connection to the natural world. We will learn a few bird calls and go on a scavenger hunt in search of birds throughout our surroundings while learning how to use binoculars properly. Binoculars provided. Registration required.

MOTHER’S DAY MANIA PICKLEBALL

LAUREL OAK PARK AGES: 6–9 Mother’s Day is always the perfect opportunity to show the special women in our lives how much we appreciate them. While the typical gifts of flowers and chocolates are always appreciated, why not give your mom something different and join Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation for an afternoon of pickleball? Mom and their teammate will start the program by designing and painting their paddle to take home. While the paddle dries in the sun, join us on the court! For new or experienced people, we will have mini-games and set up tournament-style play for all! Registration required.

RIVERDALE PARK AGES: 6–9 Bump, set, spike! Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation invites your child to get out of the house and join us in the sand! This recreational program will be about being active, teamwork, and, most importantly, having fun! All skill levels are welcome, and if you don’t have a team, no worries! We will play in a pick-up game format! Registration required.

TUTHILL HOUSE AGES: 18+ Are you looking to try a classic card game that’s fun for all ages? Cribbage is the perfect choice for a quick game with a friend. It’s simple: race your pegs around the board by playing cards and earning points. Cross the finish line before your opponent to win. Cribbage scores slightly differently than other card games, but we’re here to help you through the rules. By the time you’re done with your first outing, you’ll know everything you need to start your first game! Registration required.

HIKE + YOGA

GREAT BEAR AGES: 18+ Join us to take your yoga practice to the next level! Hike + Yoga is an hour and a half hiking and yoga experience created to help you connect with nature, community, and your inner self. We will adventure onto the trails to enjoy the fresh spring air and then find our way to a nice flat area to complete our adventure with a yoga practice. Come expecting a yoga flow for all levels to complement our hiking experience. The trail is moderately difficult, so sturdy tennis shoes or boots are recommended. THINGS TO BRING: A backpack with water and a towel/mat to practice on. Please arrive five minutes early to check in, as we will head out on the trails promptly at 9 A.M. Registration required.

TUTHILL HOUSE AGES: 18+ In recognition of National Plant a Flower Day, we invite you to join us to learn how to make a wooden planter box. Wood pieces will be pre-cut, and you will have a hammer and nails to put it together. When you are done, you can decorate it, fill it with potting soil, and add some seeds. Water it every other day and watch as your creation comes to life. Hammers, paint, brushes, and all planting supplies will be provided. Registration required.

Experience the Great Bear walkthru shooting course, featuring 28 3-D and field-staked range stations. Keep score and see who can hit the most targets! This program will extend through the rolling oakcovered hillside, so be prepared with closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes. All experience levels accepted. Registration required.

SPENCER PARK AGES: 18+ Experience the thrill of a poker run like never before! Join us for an exhilarating event that combines the excitement of a bicycle ride with the strategy of a poker game. Bicyclists will stop at five different park locations and collect a playing card to create a five-card hand. The player with the best hand wins the prize. Registration required.

STAY ACTIVE AND INDEPENDENT FOR LIFE (SAIL)

MIDCO® AQUATIC CENTER AGES: 65+ SAIL is a 12-week strength, balance, and fitness program designed for adults 65+. Participants improve balance and mobility, reduce their risk of falls, and improve their quality of life while having fun meeting new people. Experienced and skillful instructors teach each class. Classes are tailored to active older adults who wish to maintain or increase their fitness level. Chairs will be available as needed. It is recommended that you attend two classes per week. Please bring a bottle of water along to class. Registration required.

FALLS PARK OPEN AIR SHELTER AGES: 55+ This experience is for those who are not able to explore our beautiful bike trail system on their own. Round-trip golf cart tours will allow you to experience stunning views of the river, parks, and wildlife. Participants must be able to transfer onto and off the golf carts independently. Tours leave on the hour, so please arrive early. Registration required.

The Front Porch at Tuthill House provides an ideal socializing and connecting environment. It is the perfect spot to make new acquaintances or spend time with existing friends. Enjoy a steaming cup of coffee while engaging in activities like crossword puzzles, card games, board games, and jigsaw puzzles, and be sure to check out the activity of the day. GALWAY PARK ALL AGES Birdwatching in Sioux Falls is magnificent during migration season! Eastern South Dakota is a stopping place for millions of birds flying back north for the warm months. Come out and search for migratory birds on these early morning walks! This program is meant for those who can hike for an hour on sometimes uneven terrain. Bring binoculars, sturdy shoes, and a water bottle! No registration required.

Join us for our third annual Doggie Egg Hunt with prizes for all sizes! Easter eggs will have a piece of paper inside that will correlate to a prize at our prize table! You and your dog may collect up to five eggs for five prizes! Enjoy dog crafts and photo opportunities throughout the event. The egg hunt will start PROMPTLY at 1:30 P.M.

GREAT BEAR RECREATION PARK ALL AGES Join us for a trail egg hunt! This springtime egg hunt is for the whole family to enjoy. As you walk the trail along the lake of Great Bear, you will search for eggs with special prizes inside. We will also have some fun springtime crafts and a photo opportunity. The egg hunt will start promptly at 6:30 p.m. Registration required.

UPPER TUTHILL SHELTER ALL AGES Geocaching is a fun and exciting way to integrate technology into our outdoor pursuits. On this hike, you will embark on a scavenger hunt for hidden caches throughout the trail. You will navigate the hike using a GPS unit. INDOOR SWIMMING LESSONS Midco® Aquatic Center is a gold-level provider of American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim courses. Swimming lessons will be available for all ages and abilities. Not only does learning to swim allow for you to be safe in and around the water, it also has many other added benefits. Learning to swim provides a lifelong skill that can provide fitness opportunities, improve your health, provide strength and coordination, and provide confidence in the water and motivation to continue to improve skill proficiencies. WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR COURSE

AGES: 16+ Water Safety Instructor (WSI) training prepares you to teach children and adults water safety, survival, and swimming skills. Water Safety Instructors are in high demand, and teaching people to swim is a fun and rewarding part-time job for people of all ages. Upon completing the WSI course, participants will be certified to teach American Red Cross swimming lessons. This blended learning course includes an online portion (which must be completed before the first day of class) and an instructor-led classroom instruction skills session.

The daily pass allows you access to the facility from the time of purchase to the end of the operation day.

Shall be effective May 1 through Labor Day, and include the Midco® Aquatic Center, outdoor aquatic centers, and outdoor swimming pools. The outdoor aquatic facilities’ season of operation is generally between the months of May through August as established annually by Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation.

OAK VIEW BRANCH Walk a mile in the shoes of a refugee. Journey through a simulated refugee camp from border entry to destination/ placement. Endure the obstacles of navigating the refugee camp and figuring out where to go from there.
