Appuntamento sabato 10 ottobre con la “Figli del Vento Polo Cup”, esibizione-torneo a due squadre. I cavalieri e i loro splendidi cavalli – figli del vento come li chiamava D’Annunzio – si affronteranno in spiaggia nella maestosa Arena Polo creata ad hoc. Sulla terrazza del Bagno Wanda di Fiumetto l’Exclusive Polo Village permetterà agli ospiti di godere di una vista privilegiata durante l’esibizione, al termine della quale saranno proclamati squadra vincitrice e miglior giocatore. The riders and their mounts – “sons of the wind” as they were dubbed by D’Annunzio – will face off on the polo ground created especially for the occasion on the beach at Fiumetto. The Exclusive Polo Village on the terrace at Bagno Wanda beach club will afford visitors a privileged view of the games and the closing ceremony proclaiming the winning team and best player.
una retrospettiva dedicata al “vàgero” Eugenio Pieraccini PALAZZO MEDICEO di Seravezza dedica ad Eugenio Pieraccini la mostra dell’estate, dal 10 luglio al 13 settembre. Una grande retrospettiva – titolo, “Il diavolo e l’acqua santa” – a quarant’anni esatti dalla scomparsa dell’artista. Nelle sale del Palazzo, sito Unesco, una corposa selezione di opere grafiche e di dipinti. “Forse uno degli ultimi vàgeri», scrive Marilena Cheli Tomei nella prefazione del catalogo della mostra, “parola che in Versilia definisce un giramondo, un uomo di mare e che nel caso specifico di Pieraccini, come di altri artisti viareggini, si adatta a chi ha fatto della sua vita una ricerca incessante di conoscenze ed esperienze”. Un uomo “solare, positivo”, come emerge da tutta la sua vasta e articolata produzione artistica; un uomo che, dice il giornalista e scrittore Adolfo Lippi “amò l’arte e fece arte”. (c.d.) the devil and the holy water | in Seravezza, a retrospective of the works of vàgero Eugenio Pieraccini | From 10 July through 13 September, a look back at the works of Eugenio Pieraccini at Il diavolo e l’acqua santa. The sweeping retrospective, in the halls of Seravezza’s Palazzo Mediceo (a UNESCO World Heritage site), presents a substantial selection of graphics works and paintings by the artist in the fortieth anniversary year of his death. “He was perhaps one of the last vàgeri,” Marilena Cheli Tomei writes in the preface to the exhibition catalogue, “a word that in Versilia denotes a globetrotter, a seafarer; and, applied to Pieraccini as to others of Viareggio’s artists, a person who has made of their life a never-ending ramble in search of knowledge and experiences.” A “sunny, positive” man, as his vast, varied production demonstrates; a man who, as journalist and author Adolfo Lippi wrote, “loved art, and made art.” 20
