I love shooting on the beach. The closest beach to me is two hours away, so I don't get to shoot there very often, but when I do I find it very peaceful. At the same time I think it's kind of disappointing though because I feel like I can never quite capture just how beautiful those sunsets on the beach really are. I think the best locations are the ones whose
I'm fascinated by Diane Arbus. I love the way she captured people; there always seemed to be such a deep connection between her and her subjects, even when they were complete strangers. I've tried to read as much as I can about her life and it sounded absolutely incredible. I always want to know more about her. What's your favorite band? There's way too many. Put my iPod on shuffle and it'll go from Nine Inch Nails to Kanye West to Yo-yo Ma. The first band I ever really started getting into (listening to all their CD's, knowing the band members, etc.) was Green Day back when I was ten. I guess for that reason Green Day will probably always be my favorite band. How do you currently
feel about your photography? Very frustrated, but determined. I'm not sure that any photographer is ever really satisfied with their work and I'm definitely no exception. However, I feel like I've definitely come a long way since I first picked up that camera a year ago. What/Who is your biggest influence? Anna Szczekutowicz, Kalie Garrett and Natalie Kucken were some of the first streams I ever really fell in love with and were the main reasons I started a 365 in the first place. Even though I didn't discover Lauren Withrow's stream until I was about three fourths of the way through my 365, I'd definitely say she's one of my favorite Flickr-ers and is a huge influence to me.

So much inspires me, it's not even funny; Jesus, friends, family, community, cities, nature, foreign countries, and just life in general. How did you get started in photography? I was curious about photography in ninth grade because my older brother recently took it on. I took a digital photography class and learned the basic composition skills. My passion grew as I continued to take more pictures and traveled to different places around the world. What's one of your favorite places to shoot at? I have lots of favorite places. Each location brings different unique things to capture and recreate through a picture. As much as I love shooting where I live (Seattle), I love
to get out of my comfort zone. I guess my answer to this question would be the world, clichĂŠ, but true. If you could shoot anyone for a day, who would it be? I love shooting friends! We just have a blast together, but I'd be okay with shooting one of my favorite bands, Mumford and Sons. What are a few of your favorite bands? I feel like this changes from season to season, but here are a few; Mumford and Sons, Delta Spirit, Foals, Matt and Kim, Radical Face, and Barcelona.
How long would you say it takes you on average to edit a photo? 1-2 minutes. If you could meet anyone from the past/present, who would it be? Jesus. No question about it. He was a rad person. If you could accomplish one thing before you die, what would it be? It would be to truly not care about fame or fortune, to take my God-given abilities and passions to further the Kingdom of God. Do you have a favorite photographer?
I do not have a favorite. I love shooting with all my photographer friends. We have so much fun just going out and taking pictures. They all inspire me. Who's a photographer that you'd like to know more about? Ansel Adams.

What inspires you?
I don't think I could say any one thing, but I'm definitely very strongly influenced by my close friends and family because I like to document my life and the important people in it.
I'm inspired by my surroundings, the people in my life, old myths and stories and nostalgia.
Do you have a favorite photographer?
How do you currently feel about your photography?
Yes, Nan Goldin who I was fortunate enough to meet in December. It was the most amazing experience of my life.
Camera: Variety Website: www.marthaboxley.com How did you get started in photography? I taught myself to take photos, process and print my own work when I was 17 at college. I was in a fine art course but I realized it was photography I was passionate about.
At the moment I feel quite positive about my progress. However, I am thinking about getting more involved in the art scene as well as fashion because I feel my work sits well on both gallery walls and magazine pages. What/Who is your biggest influence?
Do you prefer film over digital? Definitely film, all the way, but maybe one day I will find a way to achieve similar aesthetics from a digital camera, until then I am a dedicated film junkie.
What's your favorite photo that you've taken? Probably a photo I took for a competition at the University for Elizabeth Arden. That was the first photo I was really proud of and thought, “Yes, this is what I'm about.� The photo is a silhouette of a couple in an embrace in front of a window. The photo holds a lot of emotion, it's quite intense. What music do you enjoy listening to? I like to listen to a complete mixture of music. I
like classical, indie, electro, soul and some pop. If you could go anywhere in the world for a week, where to? Probably Rio because I've always wanted to go there and it's number one on my list when I have enough money! Who's a photographer you'd like to know more about? Goodness me, what a question. There are so many talented people out there that I haven't even seen yet. I think there are hundreds I'd like to know more about. What are some things that you like to do on a lazy day? I like to wander around flea markets or just lie in bed with my boyfriend watching American TV shows and eating Ben&Jerry's! Do you have a favorite photo by another artist? I think it would probably have to be either one of Paolo Roversi's photos or
Nan Goldin's.
