RECOGNITION AND A SPECIAL TRIBUTE

For the third year, the SIM Award recognizes the work of professionals who help build the history of the music industry in Brazil and around the world. The nominees shows the vitality of the industry, with inspiring initiatives that stood out last year.

There are ten nominees in three categories: New Talent, Project of the Year and Innovation. Of the competitors in each one, nine were chosen by the SIM Advisory Board and one nominated by the public.The nominees are a testament to the industry’s vitality, with inspiring projects that impacted the music market last year.

The SIM Award also celebrates a person with the honor Contribution to Music, for her or his fundamental role in the development and consolidation of the Brazilian market. The hon-oree is chosen by the SIM São Paulo Board and revealed during the ceremony, which takes place on Saturday, the 7th, at CCSP.

The SIM Award has been held since 2017. In the two previous editions, names such as Larissa Luz, Giovani Cidreira (tied in the New Talent Category - 2017), Luedji Luna, Edgar (tied in the New Talent Category - 2018), the Conexão Cultura DF (Project of the Year - 2017), the cultural center of black resistance Aparelha Luzia (Project of the Year - 2018), the vlog Tem um Gato na Minha Vitrola, by journalist Pedro Antunes (Innovation - 2017), and the Keychange initiative, created by the PRS Foundation to engage music events to increasingly call on female artists in their line-ups (Innovation - 2018).

LIFETIME CONTRIBUTIO TO MUSIC

The Contribution to Music Award is a tribute to those who help in the construction of the Brazilian music market. People who are dedicated to music and have made relevant contributions. Last year, the award went to the incomparable producer Carlos Eduardo Miranda, who died in March 2018. In 2017, the honoree was the producer Pena Schmidt.
