early 450 different species of bird have been known to have graced these islands, including many great rarities. Indeed, the Isles of Scilly are probably the best place in the country to look for that unexpected vagrant. So whether you’re interested in watching some of our more common species going about their business or seeking out the next rare migrant, there are always some fantastic birds to look at throughout the year on Scilly. Breeding species such as Song Thrush and House Sparrow that are less common on the mainland are abundant here on Scilly. And quite bold too!
