Our team has the perfect course set up tailored to your specific event requirements. Our recommended style of tournament play is the “Shamble” format. This provides the ultimate in pace of play and enjoyment for golfers of all ability levels. In a Shamble, all players tee off, then move to the preferred drive and complete the hole with their own ball from that location, counting only the best one or two scores per hole. TOURNAMENT START FORMATS OUR SHOTGUN TEAM SPECIALIZES IN CATERING TO YOUR EVERY NEED. FROM ARRIVAL TO DEPARTURE, WE TAKE CARE OF IT ALL – THAT’S OUR COMMITMENT TO SERVICE BEYOND. Full Shotgun Start With a Shotgun Start all groups of players tee off simultaneously from different holes on the course. If there are more than 18 foursomes in the group then teams will double up at a hole as A&B teams. A shotgun start will allow players to complete their 18 holes very close to the same time. In 1956 the head pro at Walla Walla Country Club in Walla Walla, Washington fired a shotgun to sound the start of play. This is purportedly the first time a tournament used such a starting format. Today, a siren or specific time is used so that golfers all over the course can hear the signal to start. This starting format is popular for charity events, as everyone starts and finishes at the same time. This allows for a post-event meal where the prizes can be awarded. It is convenient for large group and corporate tournaments as well as events where the participants arrive at the venue together on a bus.
If your group is smaller and cannot fill all 18 holes for a shotgun start we will pair you with another tournament where possible to allow both groups to enjoy the shotgun format. Modified Shotgun Ideal for smaller groups who still want the benefits of a Shotgun Start, but cannot justify closing the entire course for the duration of their tournament. The Modified Shotgun Start employs the same starting principles as the Shotgun Start, however foursomes will tee off from holes 1,18,17,16 and so on for as many holes as required. This allows the golf course to open the tee box to non-tournament golfers once the tournament has played through hole #1. Tee-Time Groups (16 to 39 players) Tee time groups start their game of golf under the traditional consecutive tee time format running on ten-minute intervals and is a perfect format for groups of 16 to 39 players.

RECOMMENDED PLAY FORMATS Shamble (Silvertip recommends this format)
Scr amble (recommended for pace of play)
A shamble is a type of golf tournament that combines elements of a scramble with elements of regular stroke play.
The Scramble is one of the primary forms of tournament play for golf associations, charity events and the like. A scramble is usually played with 4-person teams, but 2-person scrambles are popular, too. At a 2-person scramble, handicaps are usually applied; at a 4-person scramble, handicaps are usually not applied.
Like in a scramble, all members of a team (usually four) tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole. Shambles should be played with full handicaps to make sure weaker players contribute to the team score. (Scoring, as with scrambles, can be done any number of ways, such as using one low ball per hole as the team score, or using two or three low balls per hole. Shamble scoring is only limited by the tournament director’s imagination.)
In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot. The best of the second shots is determined, then all play their third shots from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed.

GENERAL INFORMATION Menus Our wide variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts have been selected to offer you the flexibility in creating a menu. Choice of Menu When selecting your menu, please remember that for each function, the menu must be identical for all guests attending. Special dietary substitutes are available and must be arranged in advance of the function. Guests who are to receive special meals must be identified to the Banquet Manager prior to service commencing. Guar anteed Attendance A guaranteed number of guests attending your function is required 72 hours prior to the event. Guaranteed numbers for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are required by noon on the previous Friday. If the number is not received, the estimated number of guests at the time of the booking will be taken as the guarantee.
Prices Silvertip prices and menus are guaranteed 90 days in advance of the function. Food from Outside the Resort All food and beverage for the event must be catered by the Silvertip, due to Local and Provincial Health Regulations. Gr atuity and Ta xes All food and beverage is subject to an eighteen percent (18%) service charge. GST is applied to the total bill. Special Services We will be happy to work with you in developing reserved seating arrangements, floor plans and registration tables. Start and Finish Times Starting and ending times of all functions are to be strictly adhered to. The space is only booked for the times indicated. Setup and dismantling times are to be specified at the time of booking.

Function Rooms Function rooms are assigned according to the number of people expected to attend and may be changed by Silvertip, while guaranteeing to meet the requirements of the group.
Display M aterials To avoid damage to wall coverings, we do not allow the use of strong tape, tacks or any other attachments for any posters, flyers or written materials to the walls or doors without prior written consent from Silvertip.
Security Silvertip cannot assume liability or responsibility for damage or loss of personal property or equipment left in the function room. Additional security services can be arranged on your behalf.
Audio Visual All Audio Visual aids are available to rent on site for your convenience or you are welcome to provide your own. Silvertip is not responsible for lost or damaged equipment.
Shipping and Stor age Minimum amounts of materials or supplies for your functions may be delivered to Silvertip one (1) week prior to your function. Boxes must be marked and addressed properly with the name and date of the meeting or function clearly indicated to the attention of the Tournament Coordinator.
