Seeking Convention Facilitators

Sigma Alpha Sorority is seeking proposals from alumnae interested in presenting workshops at the 2023 Sigma Alpha National Convention. Our goals for alumnae led workshops is to:

1. Connect alumnae and collegiate members. 2. Provide quality programming for convention. 3. Extend an opportunity for alumnae to give back to the organization. 4. Provide a platform for alumnae to showcase their skills and knowledge and to gain valuable experience.

The objective of this request for proposal (RFP) is to locate alumnae who will provide the best overall value to the 2023 Sigma Alpha National Convention. While experience is a significant factor, other criteria will form the basis of our decision, as more fully described below.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & REQUIREMENTS

The following submission guidelines & requirements apply to this RFP:

1. Alumnae intent on submitting a proposals should notify the National Professional Development Director (professionaldevelopment@sigmaalpha.org) no later than 11/15/2022) 2. Alumnae must provide at least one past workshop that is substantially similar to this project as part of their response. 3. Alumnae must submit a resume. 4. Proposals should include any special accommodations that may be needed, including audio visual needs. 5. Proposals must be received prior to December 15, 2022 to be considered.

DESCRIPTION

The 2023 National Convention will be held in Omaha, NE on July 20-23, 2023. We are seeking Sigma Alpha alumnae presenters for programming on Friday, July 21 and Saturday, July 22. Curriculum should be engaging and relevant to the organization and to the theme of the convention.

PROJECT SCOPE

The National Leadership Team is developing a line-up of professional development workshops for collegiate and alumnae attendees. We are seeking presenters who can present on both Friday and Saturday with workshop content wholly developed by the presenter.

Preference will be given to those alumnae with experience facilitating interactive workshops. Workshop topics should be relevant to the theme of the convention—Own Your Space.

COMPENSATION & TRAVEL PARAMETERS

There is no compensation for this role. The following travel expenses will be covered for those who can present on both days: 1. Complimentary convention registration which covers up to 5 meals on Friday and Saturday. 2. Lodging at the conference hotel. Double occupancy room to share with a fellow presenter. 3. Main Cabin/Coach airfare.

*Should a presenter only be available for one day, the presenter would only receive complimentary registration, inclusive of convention meals. No lodging or transportation or other travel related expenses would be covered.

EVALUATION FACTORS

Sigma Alpha Sorority will rate proposals based on the following factors: 1. Responsiveness to the requirements set forth in this RFP 2. Relevant past performance/experience 3. Samples of work
