Haven Women's Shelter is a research project for Research in Arts Day. The design intent of this space was to focus on making the space resemble safety and beauty. The design of this space not only incorporated a place only for women, but for their children and pets as well. It was important that this space included all the necessities for women to recieve their care so they would not have to leave the building during their stay. To enforce this idea, a therapy room with an onsite therapist, a medical room with an onsite RN, a daycare area for children staying with the residents, and a cafeteria were included in this project.
A neutral color scheme was chosen and was shown that this color scheme can have a positive effect on mindfulness in a women's shelter. Neutral colors, such as beige, gray, and white, can create a calm and serene environment, promoting relaxation and mindfulness. Soft hues of green, blue, yellow, and pink were chosen as accent colors to continure promoting peace and comfort.
Renderings shown here are the daycare room and cafeteria. Programs used for this project were Revit, Enscape, and Photoshop.
Renderings shown here are two ways to space plan the dorm rooms. Programs used for this project were Revit, Enscape, and Photoshop.
Sweet Dreams Cafe is inspired by the Art Deco style. Bold colors such as pink and blue are used in this design with white to give these colors contrast. Geometric detailing is used in this space by incorporating archways and spherical shapes. White terazzo flooring is used to contrast the pink and blue coloration and is laid in a herringbone fashion to stay consistent with geometric detailing.

This project is intended for a married couple who are looking to build their dream retirement home. In their interview, they expained that they wanted this home to be eco-friendly, one story, and equiped with durable materials for their dogs that they own and foster. Location was important to them and they explained that they wanted this home to be built in Wisconsin because of the abundance of water. They also wanted this home to be ispired by nature. This meant that they wanted to live on an acre of land with native plants and no neighboring homes. To continue the theme of nature in the interior of their home, woods are often used on the floors, cabinets, and some parts of the ceiling. A neutral color palette was also chosen for the interior to keep the space grounded and earthy. This home is designed to be LEED certified and achieved a silver rating.
Programs used for this project were Revit, Enscape, and Photoshop.
