Matrix Absence Management is one of the top Third Party Administrators (TPA) supporting clients in absence management Compensation). We partner with our clients Human Resources department to manage Workers' Compensation, Disability and/or Leave of absences until the claim is resolved or the employee returns to work. Our highly customer centric approach is to try and duplicate the culture of our clients to make the experience seamless for employees. Our mobile app technology provides ease of use to our client and employee in reporting claim information. Matrix Absence Management offers a full bene t package - Medical, Dental & Vision, including 401K match. Matrix is a friendly and pleasant of ce environment; offering exible schedules Monday-Friday. The Absence Management Specialist acts as a liaison between client, employee and healthcare provider. In this position, you will be responsible for determining eligibility for disability and leave bene ts based on Matrix Best Practices. Investigate and manage Leave and Disability issues. Determine eligibility for bene ts based on legal regulations and client policies while meeting timelines. Coordinate with clients to facilitate timely return to work. Document activities and updates in the electronic claims management systems. Provide exceptional customer service and actively contribute to performance objectives. Responsible for maintaining and protecting personal health information. Must maintain a high level of con dentiality. Integrated Claims Examiner (LOA/FMLA) Matrix Absence Management Austin, TX

This position is accountable for the decision making process for determining eligibility under federal, state laws and client policy. Documentation, medical certi cation and leave tracking will be managed by the Claims Examiner within the Matrix tracking system. Investigate, evaluate and determine bene t eligibility of the Leave of Absence claims in a timely fashion. Determine eligibility under federal and state requirements for leaves submitted. Medical certi cation review and management supplied by the healthcare provider. Determine the duration associated with the leave based on the information given by the healthcare provider. Communicate approvals, denials, leave extensions, return to work plans and other important information regarding the claim to the employee and client. Manage leaves that are concurrent with Short Term Disability and Workers’ Compensation. Manage intermittent, continuous and client speci c leaves of absences. Process all absences within the speci c timeframes outlined within Matrix Best Practices guidelines. Other duties as assigned. 2-3+ years of disability claims administration or industry experience, preferred. Bachelors degree, preferred Thorough understanding of Short Term Disability (STD) process, preferred. Knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to leaves of absence. Ability to gather, analyze and organize data to make educated decisions. Ability to identify critical issues and exercise independent judgment. Ability to work independently and manage a workload effectively required. Ability to come to work daily and sustain regular attendance is required. Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills. Proven experience in providing internal and external customer service. Ability to handle con dential information with the utmost judgment and discretion. Knowledge of medical terminology desired.
