Strictly Come Dancing Live

Chinese New Year at Trafalgar Square

2-6 February

10 February

The Strictly Come Dancing tour sashays into town too, back for another year of bringing some fancy – and some not so fancy – footwork to towns and cities all over the UK. The London legs of the tour will see your favourites from this year’s series busting out the moves at the O2 Arena and Wembley Arena as they dust off their tap shoes for one more dance in front of their adoring public. Confirmed names for the 2013 event include Lisa Riley, Dani Harmer and Michael Vaughan, so expect to see some marvellous moves as well as plenty of shimmies and shakes. Joining these are TV judges Len Goodman, Bruno Antonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, so expect loads of witty one liners, acerbic put downs and brutally honest opinions from three people who are never afraid to tell the dancers exactly what they think.

Welcome in the year of the snake with this annual parade at Trafalgar Square, which sees thousands of Londoners take to the streets to celebrate this cultural festival. This colourful parade starts at 10.15am and sees a vast array of floats make their way through Chinatown, with giant mythical creatures wandering among them. After the parade, hundreds of performers will take to the stage to entertain the crowds throughout the afternoon. At the end of the day, the public will be treated to a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the sky.

7 February (O2 Arena); 22-23 February (Wembley Arena) If you’re missing all the thrills and spills of the hit ITV talent show then relax; the huge UK tour hits London in February, bringing all your favourite acts to the O2 and Wembley Arena. Although the live tour won’t have Simon, Tulisa, Nicole and Louis offering their salient pearls of wisdom, it will see the likes of Ella Henderson, Rylan Clarke, James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas on hand to entertain. In fact, the last nine contestants will be taking part, so you can expect all the best stars from this year’s show. They’ll all be belting out all manner of classic numbers (plus the odd new one) at four concerts that are pretty likely to get booties shaking a-plenty, so make sure you don’t forget your dancing feet.

Kinetica Art Fair 28 February – 3 March This annual festival celebrates the scientific and the creative and is the only UK exhibition that displays kinetic, robotic, sound, light and time based artwork. A truly unusual experience, the installations and art in the festival display impressive technical wizardry, with some pieces able to interact with visitors. Those who go to the fair can also watch a range of talks and performances, as well as take part in workshops where they can create their own scientific artwork. www.viewlondon.co.uk/whatson/kinetica-art-fair-london-article9233.html
