Few people throughout my travels around the sun have truly inspired me. And, even fewer have done so on a level I was willing to help sponsor a cause. Actually, I don’t think ANYONE has ever done that, except in this case... April Samuels, founder of Breast Cancer Can Stick It! and survivor of the disease is one person I know has a special place in the after-life. Her talents and desire to get her important message out through music has been impactful enough to get the attention of Lay’s Potato Chips and a number of other corporate giants over the years. But, It was when she reached out to me to ask if I could replicate her current custom BCCSI-themed wrap for a tom she was adding to her kit, that she got mine. Until now, I have never been a supporter of any social agenda, political group, or any other organization bent on making some sort of change in the world around me other than, perhaps, getting in touch with how I move about in society on a face-to-face basis with other people. Which, I feel, is the only thing any of us are really responsible for, anyway. I do not contribute funds to lobbyist groups or campaigns. Nor do I give money to organizations that claim they will speak on my behalf to protect my rights. Or pretend to. I am a brass tacks, straight-forward type guy. But, this isn’t about me. It’s about a client of mine who has persevered over her own personal odds, came out on top, and represents herself not only professionally, but with strength, enthusiasm, faith and dignity as well. When she reached back out to me to show how well the new wrap matched her kit, she used the opportunity to ask if I would be interested in helping sponsor her organization, I immediately said I would, in whatever facet I was able. Thankfully, that facet has been working with the Warrior Drum Project for the Drummathon event April puts on each year in Texas. So far, I have been able to work on two of these drums. The one pictured on this page being the first, auctioned in 2019 at the event. The other on the following page. I look forward to doing more of these in the future. Thank you, April, for the opportunity to work with you to help Stick It to Breast Cancer!

What is the Warrior Drum Project? Simply put, the Warrior Drum is a new, donated drum from a major manufacturer that is sent to me to be redesigned and refinished to include the names of special breast cancer survivors throughout the finish along with the BCCSI logo and a favorable background that effectively conveys a perseverant spirit. What is it for? The Warrior Drum is auctioned to the highest bidder at the yearly Drummathon event put on by April and her organization. Where does the money go? Breast Cancer Research, of course!

DRUM-Os MIC HOLE Speed Cutter
These are Heavy Duty, Professional Grade air vents that can be re-used, over and over... every time you rewrap your drum-set, actually... All Air Vents come with a protective rubber washer and threaded nut for the installation. Available in Chrome and Black Chrome. Some mild drilling may be required to install these in some shells that initially used smaller air vents. We suggest you gradually work your way up from the original-sized hole until you get to 1/2”, and be certain to use a sharp bit.
Get a perfectly round mic hole in your head every time without the fear of splitting, tearing, or ripping snags due to knife slips with this compass-style cutter that will cut a clean 2”, 3”, 4”, 5” or 6” hole in your bass drum head. These nifty tools can actually go up to 10”, but if you go up that big, you might as well leave your front head off. Oh, and, if you plan on installing an OVAL Bass Drum Mic Hole Support into your head, this thing won’t be of much help to you -- Just so’s you know, and all ;)

And, installation is as easy as a 4 step process!

Step 1. Remove all hardware (badges, air hole grommets, etc.) from your shell. Make sure the shell is smooth. Step 2. Place your wrap around the shell... allowing the end with the double-sided tape to overlap the other end. Step 3. Remove the strip from the double-stick tape and press it down. Step 4. Replace your hardware and put your heads back on. Done! You know what else rocks? Sic•Skinz will wrap your shells for you, if you need us to. All you have to be willing to do is trust us with your gear. Ship it to us (you cover expenses both ways) and we will strip your kit for you, re-wrap it, clean up the shells, and ship them back to you. And we will do it for the low cost of $25 a shell. Plus the cost of the wrap, of course. WHAT?! ... yeah. We help make the possibilities virtually ENDLESS! __________________________________________________________________________________________ In most cases, we can turn your wrap orders around within 4 days to a week. But keep in mind that we custom manufacture every order as they are taken. In some instances your order may be slightly delayed do to circumstances outside of our control. When ordering a custom-wrap, it can take longer. So, basically, what we are saying is... if you are asking us to do something entirely custom... we ask you to call upon your own grasp of common sense, and not contact us a day after you place an order, wondering where your tracking number is. And please don’t send us your drum set and expect us to restore the kit with all new hardware and rims -- for $25 a shell, we will clean up what you send us and put wraps on it, no more. Got it? However, if you ask, we’d be happy to do even more with your set... you just need to be willing to pay for it. Make sense ;)
