I recently had the opportunity to meet and chat with Lisa Vanderpump from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. If there’s anyone who knows a thing or two about perfect parties, it’s Lisa. ilestone events are meant to be cherished by every guest in attendance, but especially by the host or hostess. A bride should be able to feel the magic of every moment of her wedding, and a couple should be able should be able to enjoy the company of friends and family at their anniversary party.

An experienced planner has a preferred list of vendors so that clients can get the best rate on everything from the venue to catering to entertainment. Don’t assume that that a professional planner is just an added expense in an already tight budget. A good planner will consider a project and determine a plan-of-action that is customized to each client. “Instead of having a generic package with elements that the client may or may not use, I first

have them fill out a questionnaire that allows me to truly focus on what they need,” says Ameerah Saine of Avie Prince Events. “That way we can create a package that is specific to each event.” An a la carte system of planning is the best way for clients to get the most value out of their budget. Once a planner is involved, the quality of the end product goes up exponentially. When a client is on their own, they have a limited number of resources and are stuck cold calling vendors for quotes and an inventory of their services. An experienced planner has a preferred list of vendors so that clients can get the best rate on everything

Commenting on a recent fiftieth anniversary celebration, Keeney says that guests are usually surprised by how inviting the museum really is. “Everyone was wowed by the facility. ornate mirrors imported from France, as well as a stunning white marble counter that serves as the “bar” area. “I wanted to create a very girlie atmosphere,” explains Claudie. “The look is very soft and modern, very feminine.” It’s a venue with a true woman’s touch and an ideal location for sweet sixteens, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and prom nights. The Stylingbar offers two options for parties and celebrations: private events and group booking. With the exception of the Groom Room, clients can have the Stylingbar all to themselves with a private event. The per hour fee includes all the blowouts the team can handle (usually four to six per hour), plus complimentary champagne, white wine, light snacks, and sumptuous macaroons from the world-

famous La Duree. For smaller gatherings, the group booking option allows guests to schedule a block of appointments at the same time. Each guest is provided with a glass of champagne or white wine, and light snacks. Of course, you don’t have to be planning a party to enjoy the services of the Stylingbar. The concept is just as enjoyable with one as it is with a group. “Women in New York City and LA already experience this on a regular basis,” says Rino. “Now women in Houston can experience this luxury firsthand.” For $35, guests get a wash, condition, blowout, and style with Claudie’s and Rino’s signature Beauty-id products, not to mention a glass of champagne. The Stylingbar menu consists of other cocktail-inspired options, including Cosmo Curls for added volume, Upiña Colada for a trendsetting updo, and Firtini for rehydration and moisturizing of the hair. And if a more comprehensive treatment is needed, the Groom Room offers a full-service cut and color center for ultimate hair stylization. The Groom Room is hidden from the rest of the salon for ultimate relaxation and privacy. It’s the perfect gift to give to yourself. Spending time with girlfriends is always a special affair.
