A R C H I T E C T U R A L G R A D UAT E HELLO! I am a motivated graduate with a good eye for design and exposure to the architectural industry. A focused individual who is passionate about sustainable design. My experiences both at work and university have shaped my personality today; I have become more outspoken, confident and independent. It has also helped me build a strong work ethic and dedication towards my work. I intend on putting my skills and passion to work as an Architectural Graduate and eventually make my way to becoming a Registered Architect in Australia. I like to work with architecture that does not follow iconic ideals. I like to work with the human scale and architecture that is meant for people. I also like to explore different concepts and build a story for each project and enjoy the journey towards the final outcome.

THE URBAN NESTLE M.ARCH | AGEING IN PL ACE ABOUT The Urban Nestle looks into ‘Co-housing’ for Retirement Living. The proposal is divided into two building typologies. The first looking into Retirement Apartments and the second a Pop-Up University. The retirement apartments are sub divided into assisted living both having options for 1, 2 or 3 bedroom apartments. The Pop-Up university is a mixed use facility catering for students with facilities of an informal university. The program is aimed at providing baby boomers an option to educate university students in their field of expertise. It is an informa-
tion exchange program that promotes engagement between the two demography of users occupying the same building and engage with each other. There are 2 distinctive buildings each facing Adelaide street and Queen Street forming two dominant street edges. The visually distinctive buildings are connected by green mezzanine levels . There are self-shading balconies as well as shading fixtures applied to the Western Façade. The distinctive feature of the vertical twisting shades in the retirement living providing both shade as well as views into the city.

M . A R C H | A DA P T I V E D E S I G N ABOUT
The Adaptive Capacitites module taken in collaboration with Conrad Gargett, focuses on an intervention of the Masonic Lodge in Brisbane to accomodate a Boutique hotel. The intervention borrows from the existing structure and further extends the grid into an overhang. The new extension is made of steel that supports the mesh laminated glass. For the rooms, this material is meant to act as a
lightbox that lets light in while maintaining privacy when viewed from the outside. For public spaces, this extension provides a much needed source of light which is meant to flow from the mezzanine levels into the public space. This also represents a gesture of change in ideologies of the Masonic lodge from its secretive past and becoming more accessible and open public space.

M.ARCH | INTER ACTIVE LEARNING ABOUT
Responsive environments focused on passive design to create architecture which was responsive to its environmental and social context. This approach was masterplanned within a larger neighborhood around Norman Creek Catchment, Brisbane (NCC) and then focused on one detailed building design. The Interactive Centre within the NCC, educates people about energy and water management through an interactive design and learnig centres. The design
features include shading fixtures on the north western facade, analysed and tested using Grasshopper to eliminate unwanted solar radiation. Similarly, movable twisted fins across the building help generate wind energy in addition to solar panels on roof. The raised pathways help connect different sections of the Interactive Centre to other buildings within the NCC masterplan.

ASHOK LEYLAND WO R K E X P E R I E N C E | D E S I G N C E L L ABOUT After completion of my Bachelor’s degree, I worked full time for a year at a firm, Design Cell, in Kathmandu. I have been involved in projects in the commercial and residential sectors alongside my director and have gained valuable first-hand experience. One such project is Ashok Leyland, a workshop and showroom project which was started in 2016 and has recently started construction. I have been a part of the project since its inception
and have been involved in all of its work stages. In this project, I had the opportunity to interact with structural engineers, quantity surveyors and several consultants and have gained valuable knowledge regarding designing construction details, filing legal forms for municipal approval and producing conceptual, preliminary and sanitary drawings. This project is currently under construction.

MEDICITY
WO R K E X P E R I E N C E | D E S I G N C E L L ABOUT The Ashwin Medicity project is based in Kathmandu, Nepal. I was involved in the initial stage of master planning a community of villas, apartments, offices, hotels and a commercial centre that would cater to people working or visiting the nearby hospital. The radial shape of this masterplan is inspired by the existing curved hospital layout on the site. I was involved in massing studies, conceptual layout of vil-
las and commercial centre as well as producing yield studies/schedules and 3D renders. I also had the opportunity to present my findings during meetings. This was one of the largest projects that I have been part of where I was simultaneously working on commercial as well as residential design. Through this project, I also gained an in-depth understanding of urban layout as well as designing in difficult terrains.

RESIDENCE
WO R K E X P E R I E N C E | D E S I G N C E L L ABOUT This residence is based in Kathmandu. The client required to have two identical houses built for two brothers on the site. The site also accommodated for a servant’s quarter. I was involved in the initial conceptual design of the house that included plans, 3D renders as well as massing of the
house. I was able to provide my creative input for the house as well as presenting the clients with design options. During my involvement with the project, I learnt how to engage with clients one on one in a professional setting and understanding their requirement and expectations from the project.

GREEN MANSION WO R K E X P E R I E N C E | D E S I G N C E L L ABOUT This project involved regeneration of an existing resort. The regeneration project included extending new sections of the existing villas and introducing new infrastructure. I was particularly involved in designing a new pool and change room/plant for the masterplan. I produced conceptual as well
as construction documentation for the new pool alongside producing 3D renders of the new pool. During this project, I had the opportunity to consult water engineers and developed a good understanding regarding swimming pool construction as well as various water management equipments.

ART WORK
Pen: Quick Sketches 20.
MIXED MEDIA S K E T C H E S | WAT E R C O L O U R ABOUT Mixed media work under taken during B.A (Hons) RIBA. This includes still life watercolours including quick sketches during study travels in Kathmandu, Berlin and Rome. I enjoy working with different mediums but mostly prefer working with water colours. I was very excited to pursue art as a subject during
year 12 and did excel in it. I also find during the initial stages of architectural projects, having time to sketch and colour your ideas on paper makes for a good design exercise as well as realize the full potential of project.
