The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormons, had an interesting influence on America’s history. Explore Joseph Smith’s founding of the faith and his murder, the issues between the Saints and their neighbors, polygamy, and the settlement of the kingdom of Zion in Utah. These were people of determination, efficiency and faith, as well as subjects of controversy and military action.

Weak Minded Women?!
Learn about the decades of work that went into achieving the 19th Amendment. Women asked for the right to vote and were told that women’s minds were too weak to understand governing and politics. It was also argued that women’s suffrage would destroy their femaleness, their families, and God didn’t want them to vote.
