Minnesota Orchestra, Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe with The Minnesota Chorale

This concert is for lovers of scintillating stories and magical moments. Daring adventures, mythical creatures, sorcery and romance each play a role as Thomas Søndergård guides the Orchestra through evocative music by Lera Auerbach, Claude Debussy and Samuel Barber—and to make an enchanting tale even dreamier, the Minnesota Chorale joins the Orchestra for the first time in the new season in Maurice Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe.

Orchestra Hall hosts free coffee and treats before the concert. Light refreshments will be served on the ride back to the community center.

Be a Tourist in your own Town

Tour of the CAT & lunch at Churchill Street

The Cafesjian Art Trust Museum, or CAT, was established by Gerard Cafesjian to share his collection of Contemporary and Modern art with the public. Join us for a private tour of this exciting and innovative new gallery exhibit, Highlights. Paintings, glass sculptures (including works from Chihuly), prints and more showcase the appreciation Gerard Cafesjian had for a variety of unique and interesting artworks, styles and media. Fully accessible and minimal walking with seating available throughout the exhibit.

Meet at the CAT or Cafesjian Art Trust Museum, 4600 Churchill St, Shoreview. After the tour, we will walk across the parking lot to have lunch at Churchill Street. Bring money for your lunch.

Day trip to:

Mall of America Holiday Shopping

Let us do the driving and get dropped off at the door! Get some holiday shopping done at the Mall of America. You will have four hours at the Mall to shop, tour and enjoy lunch before heading back to the community center. You can stick with the group leader or go off on your own. The cost of this trip includes transportation to and from the Mall of America, lunch and shopping are on your own.
