ANDERSON Antony John born 22/4/40 son of R T H Anderson Esq 11 Arbutus St Mosman Entered Term 1 1954 Left 1958 IC 1956 BC 1958 3rd XV 1957 CUO ATC (H). ATKINSON Bruce Davies born 9/10/41 Retired lawyer – admitted in 1964. Partner in a small city firm from 1964 – 1991. Moved to Armidale and practised until 2016. Married with one daughter, also a lawyer. Two grandchildren at University of Queensland. Live on a small property out of town and now play some golf. BARKER Clifton Elliott born 27/11/40 1970 career Manager and Principal Shareholder companies manufacture of medical devices 1987-Present MD Gambro Pty Ltd manufacturer hardware and disposables renal procedures 1974-86 Sales Project Engineer Wallace & Tiernan Chemical Engineers 1962-74 Pitt Street Farmer 1983-Present marriage Angela Blackwood 1965; 1s 3d. Conceived in lust above a grocers’ shop in Randwick I slid through Killara Prep and Shore unnoticed eventually achieving BEChemEng (failed) - thence scoring a job selling chemical equipment. The despair of Angela Blackwood’s mother when we announced our betrothal muses me still. After coaxing a Kombi around the world, we settled down to house building and procreation. After about 10 years hawking kidney machines the MD tipped me onto the street with two years wages and the Porsche. The accursed work ethic then drove me to manufacture medical devices. This morphed into flogging rock crushers and heart lung machines. Unloaded the business a microsecond before the GFC and launched into another Kombi odyssey traversing the Silk Road through Central Asia to Europe. Recently my girlfriend has become fuzzy around the edges. When she wrote-off one car driving backwards and a second through a wall she 2

was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has lost interest in anything procedural like cooking. As the cooking classes at the Men’s Shed have failed to reveal any latent talent in me we are looking down the barrel of transitioning from Mealson-Wheels volunteers to clients. Angela's sensibilities inspired our three daughters to live close by. Son is 20 minutes away. Aren't we fortunate. Current amusements include a couple of unusual cars. BASSINGTHWAIGHTE Phillip Edward born 28/10/40 After leaving school I returned to the family farm, producing beef, wool and grain. Played rugby, cricket and tennis for fun and recreation. Married in 1970 to Robyn Bray of Neutral Bay and have three children, Georgia, Jon and Lachlan, plus seven grandchildren. The two boys went on to Shore and currently have two boys there, (fourth generation), a third grandson at Riverview, all really enjoying their time boarding, and all the sport and trappings of previous generations. One son went on to Agricultural College, the other to Armidale University. Georgia studied Economics at Sydney Uni., and Music at the Conservatorium. Is married to the Headmaster of Ascham, teaches Voice, and has been among the chorus of Opera Australia for nigh on thirty years, among other performing opportunities, providing enormous pleasure to the family. She has a son at Sydney Grammar and a daughter at Ascham. BLACKBOURN John Marston Rouse born 9/06/41 Went Jackerooing after leaving school to Burren Junction, Trangie, Scone, Willow Tree & Cumnock before buying my first property in 1965, 2500 acres north of Tamworth. Married Helen Badgery from Exeter in 1966 (still married today) two daughters & now grandchildren. Due to the 1965 to 73 droughts, I kept the property but moved into Stockbroking with Ralph W King & Yuill at Tamworth & soon after became the youngest ever Manager of a Stockbroking practice as appointed by the 3

Sydney Stock Exchange, later buying the business & expanding it from the local New England region to operate in every state of Australia plus some 9 overseas countries. After 35 years, I sold out to Wilson HTM from Brisbane just as internet broking was catching on. We retired to Port Stephens at the end of 2004 to pursue my passion of sports fishing & I now travel to various parts of the world several times per year to enjoy my sport with great friends from USA, New Zealand & other places. I still maintain my interest & ownership of sports cars & have not been without one since turning 19. During my time in business, I was director of some 8 public companies, dep ch of 7. I am a Justice of the Peace, which connects me to our new community where my life’s experiences can help others. I was involved with the Tamworth Shore Old Boys Group for 35 years & held every position except Chairman but loved making speeches & stirring the guests & officials with my brand of humour. I send my best wishes to my old school friends for their health & happiness plus a life full of quality. At 83, my time is taken up with 2 sessions a week at Kieser Mosman, a couple of good lunches a week, and keeping in close contact with my extended family. I still enjoy being an active ASX trader and make the most of roof top apartment living in Lane Cove North. After many years travelling the world, I am now happy to stay grounded in Australia, with my travelling years behind me.
