Come take a seat in McMinnville’ You know there’s something special about a main drag when locals refer to it as the community’s “living room.” Downtown McMinnville has been the heartbeat of Yamhill County since before it was incorporated in 1876. The McMinnville of today is rich in history and small town charm. Quaint boutiques, unique shops, and local galleries abound. Music fills the air from our farmers’ market performers and outdoor concerts all summer long, and pours out of our restaurants and pubs on winter evenings. McMinnville was voted first runner-up by Parade Magazine for best mainstreet in September 2014. Locals would agree there is just something so comforting and exciting about McMinnville that sweeps people off their feet. “They are authentic, a little rough around the edges in a beautiful way, and undeniable friendly,” said Sunny Miller, a McMinnville resident. McMinnville is on the rise - blossoming into a trendy scene that has something to offer everyone. The little town wasn’t always thriving. The little town situated in the Willamette Valley began to flourish in the mid 1980s when the wine industry started to blossom. Many of the gems and amenities available in McMinnville are due to the lavish Willamette Valley and vineyards in the surrounding hills. Quality wine deserves excellent food, accomodation and experiences. Locals can sip pinot noir from vineyards just outside the city limits. Pedestrians might pop into Grain Station Brew Works to sample their craft beers, or browse American-made vintage clothes and decor at Rag ’n’ Bone/Mid Mod. Then they can enjoy a five-star meal at Thistle, which buys its produce from family farms within 45 miles. There’s a real homey vibe to McMinnville explore McMinnville and you’ll know what we’re talking about. Take a stroll down Oregon’s favorite main street.

“How can a town of 33,000 have so many good restaurants in such a compact area? Simple. Tourists come from around the world to explore Oregon wine country, and McMinnville is the epicenter.” Terry Richard, The Oregonian
