Valid According to the NMC Gazette or Not Since the NMC released its gazette at the tail end of 2021, one question that has been on everyone’s minds is whether or not a medical degree from their dream destination adheres to the NMC Gazette 2021 or not. It would be safe to say that currently, Study MBBS in Russia is one of the very few medical degrees that is considered valid in India. The entire curriculum is taught in English, and the course exceeds the minimum duration requirement of the gazette (it’s 5 years while the gazette mandates at least 54 months/4.5 years). In addition, it also fulfills the gazette’s mandate of offering at least one year’s internship. Medical degrees in the Philippines also fulfill most of these requirements, except the duration part. However, the latest notification by the Indian embassy in the Philippines has stated that the degrees of those who’ve enrolled before 18th November 2021 will be valid in India. It remains to be seen whether or not medical colleges of the Philippines adjust their programs to fit the NMC standards. Currently, as far as MBBS in abroad is concerned, Russia (though slightly ravaged with war), is the much safer and sure-shot option for the Indian medical aspirants who seek a secure and promising medical career.
